Greenlizard0's Weekend Football Thread [August 5/6/7 2011]

Hope Leicester City have a good season.

I'm in two minds about this :p

Most of my friends are season ticket holders / go to a lot of the games, I occasionally go too if Wednesday aren't playing and would love to be able to watch Premier League football, but do like laughing at them getting their hopes up and having them crushed :p

Hull vs Blackpool ought to be good.

Citeh will grind out the dullest 1-0 since their last one. Their fans will act like it's the best result in the history of football. Man Utd will shrug their shoulders and go on to win the title.

Yes, I remember you telling me last season.

This season I'm not getting my hopes, we will finish Top.

Should be a very weird opening day, as apparently we're (Brentford vs Yoevil) going to have a load of Man City fans at Griffin Park - on account of their continual love for Uwe Rosler!

Tummy, seeing as I'm up to Sheff Utd on the second weekend, I can hereby confirm that we'll embarrass them!

I bloody hope Sheffield United struggle this season, it's a tough league (we found out last season) and they have to play us ;)

Tough first away game against Derby, before all this Carson Young crap happened I believe we had a chance of getting promotion back to the premier league, now its just a case of having a respectable season. Be happy with a draw !!!!

FOOTBALL'S BAAAAAACK :D *dances*

Leicester for Championship
Chesterfield for League One
Crawley for League Two
Fleetwood for the BSP
Halifax for BSN
Truro for BSS
Carshalton for Ryman Premier
Leamington for Zamaretto Premier
Chester for Evo-Stik Premier

:cool::p

I think they're going to do a Charlton Athletic, and regard themselves as far too big for this league. Can see them have a remarkably average season.

Hoping for Leicester to start their campaign to the Prem, with a nice thrashing of Cov on Saturday :)

I would love Chesterfield to get promoted as well, but might be a bridge to far this season

Crawley for League Two

Not according to Guardian readers.

Up the Shrimpers.

Even though the odds were awful, i placed my bet on Brighton to win the Championship yesterday.
£100 at 18/1

Easy start this weekend, hosting Doncaster for the first competitive game at Amex!

I know it's not really apart of these fixtures but may as well mention it. Stoke have just won their Europa League game 0-1 (0-2 agg), and Fulham are currently winning 1-0 at home to RNK Split. Andy Johnson with the goal.

RIP Greenlizard0 :(

Anyone had any season bets?

I've got £60 on Barnsley to win the Championship Handicap, +36 with Will Hill @ 18/1. I always have a tenner or so on us, but I've been impressed in pre-season, especially by Keith Hill.

I'm thinking about a few quid EW on Nolan to be top Championship goalscorer too.
