Greenlizard0's Weekend Football Thread [August 5/6/7 2011]

wow. 2 defensive blips but aside from that and some wasteful finishing an absolutely cracking performance. We've had a brilliant pre season.

Utd's second goal aside, the standard of football played today was pretty ****. Utd looked a lot sharper physically than City all game though and if anything, the scoreline flattered City.

Never thought i could want a united win but seeing city fall flat on there arses is always a good laugh.

Smalling looked really good

I thought Utd's football was pretty damn good to be honest.

City were just hoofing and hoping, headless chickens. It was mostly a youth team for the second half so even more credit to them.

Brilliant from United, looked a real cut above a very negative and defensive City.

City's biggest problem is Mancini.

Never in any doubt who would win that.

United played some good attacking positive football, were fast and looked a really good strong side. Two mistakes for City's opening two goals aside great performance. City looked tired and jaded and only benefited from two mistakes in the United defence, out played and out thought tactically, too negative and defensive to boot. United must be said scored two goals from poor defending as well, but their second was just sheer class.

Really? Other than your 2nd goal, I can't remember either side stringing more than 4 passes together all game. Physically you looked a lot sharper and some of the running off the ball was good but the passing was poor.

Im a Utd fine so i know i may be bias but at times I thought we played some excellent football

I thought United's standard of football was miles ahead of City. United looked better doing everything and looked a lot fitter and more physically capable.
