Nature - predators evolved behaviours & biological systems to eat them (massive meat shredding teeth, short intestinal tracks, dichromatic vision), all of them also lack higher brain function to understand morality in the context of nature vs breeding species to kill.

Humans on the other hand have the exact opposite evolutionary traits, specifically evolved for a plant based diet, grinding molar teeth, huge intestinal tracks (needed for plants), trichromatic vision (evolved for colour recognition in plants)

You can sit there all you like in 2021 thinking you're a carnivore, but you are simply not, you've just been socially conditioned to think meats essential - also with say 50000 years of ancestors to you - who OCCASIONALLY, (i.e. hyper rare) ate some meat, 99% of the diet is plant based - in fact I read in new scientist recently your average caveman ate some 100 grams of fibre per day - modern humans eat 10-15 grams maybe (I hit around double that)

Sure in the past couple thousand years meat consumption has gradually increased, but thats literally nothing compared to 2 million years of modern homosapian evolution.

As no ocuk forums have existed for 2 million years you can only look at science - and, its quite clear - we are plant eaters.

Fun fact, there is 12 things missing from humans that we MUST get from our diet to survive - all 12 are found in plants - literally every single plant as well, from lettuce to apples the 12 NEEDED amino acids are in basically every plant that exists.

We need literally nothing from meat - there is no molecule or essential amino acid or nutrient from meat humans need - odd that - its almost as if we evolved to eat the things that are essential to us ??????

And no, B12 comes from bacteria - absolutely nothing to do with meat - B12 is found in ground water, rivers, etc - its almost as if our species evolved on a planet where water didn't come out of a tap for the past 2 million years.

It’s really not. I did a meal planning thread for a couple of months but it never took off but look in there for inspiration and see that you don’t have to eat all the same thing.
I don’t think I repeated a single meal (repeat maybe one or two a month nowadays), and veganism is so so much cheaper than eating meat/fish.

We did our shop today, probably 10 dinners and it was around £100. Including lunches, breakfasts, snacks (first mince pies of the year!), household stuff, etc. This is our dinner menu for the next 10 dinners: Lime coconut dal
Minced tofu & dry fried beans
Palak paneer
Harissa bulgar wheat bake
Vegan jerk salmon & mash
Spaghetti meatballs
Butter chickpea curry
Masala baked beans on toast
Lahmacun
Maze gohan

Obviously if you’re buying the fake meats then it won’t be.

2 adults.
My shopping bill was £150, but there was a £10 pot plant, a £13 bottle of port, £6 worth of beer, £10 worth of toilet paper (must be the fibre, my poops are huge!) and a few quid of dog treats in there as ‘non food items’ and no doubt other junk which I’ve forgotten. Plus crisps, bread, frozen veg, frozen sausages, some cakes, squash, fruit, etc etc. As well as ingredients for the meals above, lunch (mainly noodles for me) and breakfast (bread and marmite).

My food shopping bill for two is around £50/week, probably less if you exclude non-food items. Quantities vary but we eat meat every day.

My point about how you don’t need to eat the same thing all the time stands. I’ve posted 10 dinners that I suspect cost around what you pay for yours (though mine do have a number of specialist ingredients that ironically are probably not great for the planet in terms of air miles). I certainly can’t see how veg/grains can cost the same as meat. Though I appreciate there was a £4 jar of Harrisa and £3 tub of miso in there which obviously lasts a lot longer than a week or two.

?? What an absolute pointless post. We’re discussing how veganism isn’t any more expensive (or is, depending on your view) than meat eaters. If the person saying veganism is more expensive is eating very cheaply then it will be. If they are eating comparable foods then I suspect it’s not.
So, asking what they are eating is a relevant question. Not sure why you’ve responded as you have.

Don't have a meal planner. We buy mostly seasonal fruits and vegetables and inexpensive meat items. Plenty of cheap herbs and spices available. We also grow some vegeteables and herbs.

Risking coming across as an uncultured slob I have to admit I would need to Google half of that stuff to find out what the hell it is.

I did myself salmon, baked potatoes and fresh vegetables for dinner. Bacon, lamb's liver, tomato and egg was breakfast. But I'll ask my cattle kindly not to fart tomorrow in recompense :)

As many young girls as possible helping to reduce the population... Once caught ask to be crusified on a large wooden cross to be dumped in a deep ocean trench..

The next 100 years is gonna be hell, reducing population, ageing population, harsher weather economic collapses..
