Grid 2

i think its very good, coastal road is gorgeous, you will struggle running it on ultra at a constant 60fps at 2560x1440 with gtx 670 sli, i have to knock the shadows and particles down to high.

In fairness that's probably the best bit of the game, the graphic performance.

I run ultra settings at 2048x on my 4GHz Phenom II x6 and ATi 7850 (stock) with constant frame rates. I've not noticed any slowdown.

Not sure why you'd struggle with SLi but then I'm not familiar with nvidia cards.

Maybe it is not supporting SLi yet properly ? My 780 with everything maxed at 1440p never drops a frame. 670 Sli should have no issues with this.

My Volume is also ok using speakers and Xonar DGX card ?

Speakers and "Realtek ALC 892 8-Channel High Definition Audio".

Not had this problem before, but it's no hardship turning the speakers up a notch or two.

Approx 20% higher volume than normal to achieve volume of other games.

I must admit it is growing on me a bit. The only things I'm finding really annoying are the commentator keep calling me "Pal" and the Rewind in the middle of the screen each time I scrape a barrier or other car.

I think online races will be a lot more fun.

Grid grew on me too and you're right multiplayer will make it more fun.

But I fear for the most part I'm in agreement with this comment on Metadritic:

"Great game if you love rubberbanding AI, unrealistic casual driving physics, social media, drifting around every corner in any car, permanent traction control+abs, no in-car camera, no team management, and zero challenge."

It's the perfect Steam sale game. A couple of quid for a few hours fun but no more. I imagine it will be under a tenner within a month.

I don't even know why I bought it, wasn't on my radar at all and then yesterday I just got it.

Typical of me really, I've done that with hundreds of games half of which remain untouched.

I'm not going to get it, based on the reviews and the comments in this thread... I might pick it up in a sale someday. It's a shame as I was hoping it would be a nice contrast to NFS:Most Wanted which I've been playing through on the PS3.

<side-rant>
NFS:Most Wanted is a fun arcade racer, but I've never played a game to date which has as obnoxious DLC/microtransactions as this does (that's EA for you I guess). You aquire new cars by just finding and stealing them parked around the big open worlds, but quite often you spot a really tasty looking Lamborghini or similar and drive up to it only to be presented with "BUY XYZ DLC TO UNLOCK THIS CAR!" And likewise you can be racing around free-roam or in a police chase and suddenly run into a giant red hologram wall which when you hit it informs you "BUY XYZ DLC TO UNLOCK THIS AREA!"... I really dislike this emerging trend of ramming it in your face constantly that you bought something half-finished

I'm still unsure, I put in the cancel request to steam last night but I still have time before they action the request.

So those playing it what is your impression now, i'm probably most interested in the online side - how the races are and whether the game has legs. Gameplay wise I will be playing with a controller so i'm ok with so so physics as long as it gives a reasonable car impression - if that makes sense!

Ultimately it has to be fun.

I did exactly the same.

I can only blame myself for getting swept up by pre-release hysteria.
At least i get to play GRID while I wait...

this is with quick copy and paste from grid 1. people have said already with a few tweaks it should be pretty easy to have a none blurred cockpit cam done soon. then maybe the rage will focus on something else :p

before people rage look at that its a mod on a game not even out yet lol. give it a chance ragers .

wait till people can actually play it properly on thursday night or friday morning

the games fine as with any launch many rage about stuff most haven't even got the game or tried the full game features which cant be unlocked yet even with vpn.

at worst its as good as grid 1 (minus cockpit ) upto yet and that's without trying the mp because of it being locked. handling is fine graphics are fine tracks are fun. if you like grid 1 or dirt games you like it if you want project cars or sim like games you probably wont.

it is a arcade racer so it does as said. id give it 8/10 without trying mp upto yet

the thing that bugs me at moment is the voice saying this or that but that will be edited by me or others and turned off. so small thing rest im happy with. this was in other dirt games so no real surprise.

best thing im happy about is wheel straight in no tweaking perfect handling just like dirt 3. on project cars for eg hrs apon hrs and you end up just leaving cause its like driving a piece of wet butter.

so to jump in and have fast and furious racing with mates this is a great game and will be very popular . as said remember the game isnt out yet uk and will probably be a patch to fix a few small things on euro release or very shortly after.
