So basically the game is no good, its nothing compared to Grid and a lot of design choices should have been left out and they’ve got rid of a lot of the stuff that made Grid so good.
Good one Codemasters. Now that’s a company that’s making their new company direction work for them. They’ve not actually released a decent racing game since well, DiRT and Grid IMO. Their F1 titles have been buggy and full of silly design choices, the last few dirt games whilst fun were not really proper rally games, Dirt 3 was closer I guess, and as for Dirt showdown, F1 Race Stars and F1 2011 – well erm best left to bargain bucket really.
F1 2012 could actually be classed as decent, so erm ok they’ve had one game, out of how many racing titles?
I’m so glad I went with my instincts on this one and avoided. It looked average from the very start.
Project Cars is it for the time being then..

Why would online change the way the game plays? pCars should be released by this time next year and its already better than any Codemasters racing game

My experience with online racing games, more so with codemasters F1 titles are normally don't bother trying to get to the first corner before anyone else, stay at the back, wait for the carnage to end and then race and watch the normal progression of cars dropping off the track leaving the proper racers to then race against..
Project Cars is indeed shaping up nicely, still a lot of work to be completed though, but its looking good so far.

it could be better is it now = no ! you cant even steer brake properly lol. fundamental basic things.
if you love project cars go play project cars.
All the stuff about no In-car view due to graphical overheads by Codemasters is complete tosh. The game is using the Dirt Showdown engine and this is a cut and paste job into that. The only reason this does not have In-car view on either Pc or consoles is the Dev could not be bothered or did not want to implement it as it was not in place for showdown.
Just lazy developing and poor excuses. Tbh this may as well be published by EA.

Which is what I said from the very start when Codemasters announced no in car view, they just didn’t want to have the overheads of creating all those in car views. It was a cost cutting and lazy choice by codemasters, a choice that to be honest saved me wasting £26 on this one. I didn’t pre order purely based on the lack of in car view. Now I’ve seen reviews I’m glad I didn’t pre order full stop.
GT6 for PS3 out soon, Project Cars is tiding me over and Forza 5 for xbox one soon enough, nah. I think we can continue on in life just fine without needing Grid 2 and its no in car views and poor design choices..

think you'd be better of waiting for GT6 personally. GT6 will offer way more racing and be an overall better game if GT6 is being built upon GT5 which even though did have its faults.. It was a fine racing game hidden in all of those confusing menus..
Grid on the PS3 however was an excellent game, grid had so much going for it. The touring car racing, the open wheel, the progression it all just worked. this is Grid not Grid 2 BTW

I don't like pCars, I got a refund for it a while back. Its still better than the codemasters games.
grid 2 is an arcade style game and does it great. from the little ive played of it so far it handles like grid 1 and the graphics have been improved.
i paid £17.99 for it so its very good value, if it turns out to be anything like grid 1 then i will definitely feel as if i have a bargain.
there are plenty of sim games on the market and if sim is something you want then i would avoid grid 2.

I can turn and brake fine for most of the cars in pCars as well. But game is early into development. Some of the cars really are still very broken and require a lot more work.
I consider pCars to be a very good potentially fantastic up and coming racing title, but it’s too early to say if it will be the one to get. but its shaping up nicely.
The RUF (ruf = porsche) rolls like nothing I've seen before, you could actually get sea sick, it rolls aronud whilst driving that much, but its still got work to be completed.
codemasters games are fine if you dont expect sim racing games.
they are for mainly arcade type racers. this is what i dont get why people get mad when they give you a arcade type game it is what they make lol.
i play all different car games i look how they market the game and you can tell roughly what you will get. all i wanted from this game personally was the handling from dirt 3 which to me is very good with my wheel. it handles how i wanted so i am happy.
