I woke up last night, at 3am, with my dog trying to push me out of bed (as per nomral) and remember biting together hard, on a small bit of sand like object in my mouth. I think I just of chipped my teeth while I was sleeping/dreaming last night.

The night before, I woke up after I remember grinding my teeth together really very hard and woke up from the pain :(.

Anyone else have this problem (not the dog kicking you out of bed) the teeth.

Jon.

The dentist tells my mum that she grinds her teeth in her sleep.

That's about as far as the story goes.

I think you can get gumsheild type things to wear whilst sleeping.

Is there a medical explanation for doing it? like stress of something?

Yes, badly my partner informs me.

If I get angry, like seriously ****** which isn't often, I will start to grind my teeth heavily without realising.

Likewise, most nights apparently I grind my teeth a lot. Never chipped any because of it, however I would go to the doctor about it. I tried wearing my gumshield one night, but found it too difficult to sleep with.

/Doctors. (not that i've been :p )

How does he know that :o *SHOCK* :D

Yeah, it's called bruxism and is quite common.

Does anyone ever dream that their teeth are falling out? I do quite often, it's scary.

I grind my teeth all the time, even while awake. I was grinding my teeth just now and only realised when I read the thread title. No idea why and occasionally it ends up with my mouth aching for a while.

Edit: is it worth mentioning to the Dentist?

lots of people do. Mainly adolescants/young adults.

thought to be about getting older/fear of getting older/responsibility.

I used to but stopped when I got older :)

I sadly chipped one of my front tooth :( and its been half grinded and gone down over the years....

Worst part not much u can do apart from a fake tooth or tooth cap, my dentist told me it sometimes happens :(

Goodness know what causes it either guess stress!
