Grinding teeth while sleeping

Yeah, it's called bruxism and is quite common.

Does anyone ever dream that their teeth are falling out? I do quite often, it's scary.

All the time. I also seem to wake up with toothache whenever I dream about them falling out, so I must be doing something physical to them when I'm sleeping too.

I find it seems to happen if I forget to brush my teeth before I fall asleep?

Yes, he died when I was four. Thanks.

I lol'ed. Hard:(

In other news: i pulled my own tooth out in a dream last night, found it really strange when i brushed my teeth this morning to find that i still had my tooth

Over time you'll end up wearing your teeth down or breaking off cusps of the teeth. Best to see your Dentist and they can have a plastic splint made up that'll protect your teeth of a night.

i do quite often for periods of the year, usually when im stressed or w/e, it usually goes hand in hand wiht me grinding :)

OP, dentist will get you a gumshield made up, Iv had one before to stop me grinding, it goes down well with the ladys, the pillowtalk etc. or not :)

my boyfriend does it occasionally. i dont know how he doesnt wake himslef up. he wakes me up every time. The noise is horrible

Try magnesium supplements before you go to bed, it's a mild muscle relaxant and may help to stop it. I know of drug users that use it with varying success to stop the gurning associated with stimulant use. 3 or 4 tablets should be enough, be care of taking too many as it may cause your sphincter to relax a little too much!
