Grow your own 2013

I went over to put the allotment to bed for the winter last weekend & was surprised at how well my sweet peppers were doing. I hadn't watered them since the beginning of September but they looked the healthiest they've done all year. Plus half a dozen big green peppers on them. I 've left them up to see how long they keep going for.

I think next year I'll just put them in the borders and leave them be, along with the chillies.

Fianlly got an allotment after near three years. However this is more space than ive ever had by a considerable amount. 157square meters. Oh and a plum tree on the end.

How on earth do you plan what to grow, when to seed, plent etc. how to time it so you have a steady flow throughout the year etc.

And other than realseed.co.uk.
Anywhere else you can get old fashioned breads from or unusaly breeds.
Howabout onions that actually make you cry like they used to, rather than these mild rubbish we have these days.

You might be able to get away with planting some autumn onions sets if you can clear a bed in time. Check out some of the larger seed companies as their onion sets are amazing. Really eye watering strong and tasty.

If you want to some nice cheap seeds check out www.seedparade.co.uk.

That's a lot of space to work with!

I only probably have 5 sq meters to play with so it is a bit easier to plan for me. I just chose a bunch of things I wanted to grow and with a bit of measuring up I managed to fit most things in.

Good luck with your 157 sq meters :)
