Grr.. Tour de France

Just generally abused it, using it to get to work, then got it under a car :( The sod agreed to buy it off me as he'd had it so long but never saw a penny.... Never lend expensive things (or money) to family/friends :)
How/why did you let him get away with that?

He should have bought you a new one, and you should have made sure he did.

Gotta admit though, its a fantastic event. Only the elite can succeed :)

what is it again, something like 3000km? immense.

Weird man, how old are you? we should meet up at the bull for a pint! :) (p.s. the bull kinda sucks, so maybe another pub is a better idea)

Because he earns sod all, has to support 2 kids and a girlfriend that likes spending his money

Lesson learned there!

was this today??? i work on parklane, dint notice a thing then again i work 12 hours so i was in at 8 and left at 8 got my bus a 36 to work and a 436 home with nothassle atall looks like i missed it all :D

i walked outside, watched them ride up the hill, and walked back inside again.

what a day!

(actually it was quite good, but then, i don't drive yet and had nowhere to go.)

True, I guess...but it's worse now. I don't even bother. I venture out to country pubs for my drinking now....Southfleet, Luddesdown, Cobha, etc.

i got a bit annoyed about this race too. i work in westminster and was doing some overtime on saturday, getting in at 8.30 was fine as there was no one about but when i left at 1.40 to get the 2 o'clock train home it was madness. the paths were packed with people just standing there watching an empty road. at one point i didnt think i was gonna make my train as it got to a stand still. i ended up elbowing my way through stepping on everyones feet. i dont come into london to watch men in tight lycra, if i was that way inclined i'd be in soho

needless to say i made my train just in time. the problem didnt stop there though as i have 2 flats and the 2nd one which im trying to decorate is near the A2 and was closed from 7 till 1 :(

why cant the french keep their race in france ? :(

It's the Tour de France

Why the hell is London involved in the first place? Sounds like every thing else with this country, Government can tax the residents of the country enough to put events on, but we are crap at everything we host.

I don't recall the Commonwealth Games or Euro 96 being crap. I presume this went off without a hitch either.

Didn't realise that it did cross into other countries, as it's name is Tour de France (Tour of France) and I don't pay much attention to it, excuse my ignorance. Should be renamed to Tour de Europe.

And as for commonwealth games, we have never been a great country at athletics, we win golds now and then but never come out top. The same will be true of the 2012 Olympics, we'll do ok at it but never be right up there with China and Russia, which is a shame. Euro 96 was a great event, but we were out in the semi's.

Just feel that organisers should leave hosting of events to countries that are good at things. I see England as a try-hard country.
