grrrrrr ebay

Can't you just bend the bracket back into position with a pair of pliars? all it needs to do is hold your card securely it's not like it has to be shaped perfectly.

First off, did you sign for it? If not, I woudn't even ask for a refund or anything, in a week ask him where it is and pretend it never arrived, he'll have to refund you and you've got a card (that's if it works that is)...

Why do I say this? If anyone has the curtousy to ship an item of such value wrapped in only bubble wrap they don't deserve your money, obviously has no respect for the card or you as a buyer.

If you did sign for it, I'd be asking for a partial refund - if it works (haven't had time to read the thread).

I would never ever buy anything valuable off eBay from outside the EU, things <£10 from China yes as they are pretty worthless and hard to break but a GFX card, used, nono.

well you do get some great genuine sellers, I personally have shipped plenty of items overseas and would always have an outer box,,anti static inside around the item and bubble wrap around the entire inner box.

I am assuming a decent amount was spent on this item, as it has already been said, if the seller cant ship it properly due to laziness or whatever and its compromised - then he only has himself to blame and shouldn't get anywhere near full value.

I hope it runs well for you

Yeah, Lie and steal. That's the way!!!!. Sorry but there is no justification to act like that regardless of the circumstance. I wouldn't trust you as when pushed, you seem to think this is acceptable behavior. Please don't promote for people to act this way, the world is in enough trouble as it is.

Lucky.

PCB looks more or less fine.

And ebay seller seems half co-operative.

Could have been worse, i got a 280GTX last year with a waterblock on stuck diagonally in a tiny box. Needless to say it was bent like a banana totally unsuitably packed and dead!

Far too many retards on ebay sadly! Though you can get lucky. My evga 670 was just £230 delivered and new, registered it online and ihave warranty too.

Buying a graphics card off ebay is fine as long as:
1) Buy from your own country
2) Pay using paypal

If the card is duff then it's trivial to get a refund from paypal.

And if selling a card make sure you take a photo of the serial number

I also had a GTX580 sent to me in a sainsburys plastic bag, then wrapped in bubble wrap and stuffed in a padded envelope... stuck it in my machine and got greeted with rainbow colours across everything... I did advise the seller that in future he should try to atleast keep hold of the static bag if not the box, when demanding my money back

evidently some people like to learn the hard way

should have gone waitrose, their bags are much better!

it makes me wonder how some people make it through puberty with that level of common sense!

Spot on !, Trouble is 95% of people are not technically savvy, so what chance do we have then when they get to post electronics ?

With experience You learn to pack stuff so it can not be distroyed in the post, which is not hard.

lol 3x the amount thats silly but I recall ocuk did something similiar few years ago, was it an AMD or intel badge for 99p and £9.99 shipping lol

Cant recall though was long ago !

Maybe but as I live in the UK, I try to keep the British industry going by buying from the UK. If it costs a little more, then so be it.

there aren't any legal tricks to bypass import duties, only illegal ones
as much of a pain as it is you always have to take import in to account when buying and often there is not price difference (or not enough of a saving over potential hassle) to justify buying from the US by internet
