Fair enough, least you done your research, thou i don't remember a thread about that bike on here thou. Personally I wouldn't get it, the Specialized Hardrock is about the same money.
Have to seen this thread? If you have time, along with all the pictures there are some really good info in there.
I've got the 2006 (non disc) version. What are you planning on using it for? I've done some biking through woods and that sort of thing (up by the universities). I swapped the tyres for semi slicks to make it a bit more road friendly.
$loth, this was my thinking. The guys I work with are serious MTB'rs and I just fancy the weekend away for a beer but will have an excuse to have a go.
I was getting fed up at looking for a hardrock with disc brakes. I did see a Hardrock XC but it wasn't disc upgradeable. I've only had to spend another 20 quid. I've bought it local so no worrying about problems and I get a free service after a month.
The thing that appealed about the Avalanche was the frame is the same from 3.0 to 1.0 so I can upgrade at a later stage if I get more into MTBing.
It's a huge difference from my rusting Raleigh Incognito!!!!!
