** GT REPLACEMENT - Watercooling Optimised Fan **

You say the cables will be black. Will they be braided or just black ribbon/twist style?
Also when they become the OcUK special. Will they replace the white/blue on the tech labs bundles? (the SR1 for example)

Just posting, as i received mine.
They are MUCH quieter than the stock corsair fans in performance mode.
The cables are also black and braided which is a nice touch.

ribbon style. i didnt want to add expense to the item. besides, most modders would braid their own cables anyway.

they will replace the FQ121 in all of our offerings as soon as the stock is here.

Hey Rjk, if these are successfully do you envision getting others custom made? a GT1850 equivalent is a bit too much for me but I would happily snap up a couple dozen GT1450 equivalents.

Just a suggestion but do silverstone offer anything similar in looks in a 140mm size that would compliment the new fans you are ordering Rich? My build is awaiting some 11 fans (5x140 and 6x120) and I want to make sure they match (as I am a tart).

unless of course I fill my 750D with 13 x 120mm fans! :D

running them at 10v would do that.

the whole point of this model was to make it accessable to everyone
the reason the high performance 1850 GT did so well was because it could be slowed down.

same story with this, you can always make a fast fan slower/quieter.

there isnt much point in us making multiple skus when most enthusiasts can either solder in a resistor, add a speed reduction cable, or run it off a controller.

Yeah but there's a limit to how much you can lower them, in my experience the GT1450's could run at sub 800RPM but the 1850's would stop spinning before then, hence why the GT's had multiple versions.

It's no biggie I'll just grab some of these for performance builds and use something else for quiet builds :)

I run (9) 1850 GTs anywhere between 400 and 1200rpm under most situations generally sitting ~650rpm happily and silent

I have a single AP-45 reliably run at 185 rpm all the way down from 2150 on an AQ6. Good fans undervolt tremendously.

Quite sexy, but there are too many fans out there that on their own are silent, but when put on a rad, make excessive noise... Would be willing to take them for a spin if they had more interesting colour design
