** GT REPLACEMENT - Watercooling Optimised Fan **

What I'm planning to do with one of my systems (it's been in the planning stage for some time, despite having all the bits) is have one rad where the fans are controlled via PWM by the CPU and one where the fans are controlled, via PWM, by the 1st graphics card. Both will use a splitter with Molex connection to actually power the fans, just want the speed control done by hardware.

That way it can be dynamic. Fans really low when idle and then ramp up when gaming, much like with the air coolers, but hopefully not as much.

My GTs are controlled via PWM

:p

Do a performance test and I'm sure you'll get a ton of interest. :)

dont really need to. they perform within a few degrees of GT fans on the same radiator.

I am ordering them today but have no idea on ETA yet, will need to speak to silverstone.

Ordered the 3 fan bundle and it is showing as pre-order on the item page without a expected arrival date. Anyone know when this is likely to be?

Any chance that OC will send me 3 of the 10 single fans they have in stock?

I'm looking for new fans to replace the ones that come with the Corsair H100i. Would people recommend these over the Corsair SP 120 PWM quiet edition?

I happily got 2 to replace the stock h100i fans. Whisper quiet. Playing World of Tanks and I can only hear the mech HDD clicking away. Thats including the 2x 140mm front intakes and 1x 120mm rear intakes.

PC is now so quiet, the HDD clicking reminds me that its on :)

Thanks for the reply, are they the same profile as the stock H100i fans?

What do you mean by same profile?

They are 120mm x 120mm x 25mm, obviously with different stats. I just plugged them into the h100i via the fan header cable and left them to it. I haven't used any specific fan RPM profiles, not used Link or Speedfan software.

Can you do a performance test with stock fans vs these on same RPM? :)

I know the noise will be better for sure.

OK Guys

Some good news and some bad news

The good news:
The FQ121WC Fans have been ordered this morning after we have finalised the specification and pricing. I am happy with our samples and performance is exactly where it needs to be.

The bad news:
Obviously with this being a custom production run for a product that Silverstone don't normally offer, there is a lead time due to production of around 6-8 weeks. alongside the shipping time etc, it is looking like the product will be with us around Christmas time.

I will start a pre order deal thread closer to the time when I have a more firm ETA from Silverstone. as it stands now, It would be unfair of me to start taking orders this far in advance without knowing a proper ETA or accounting for further delays.

The price of the fan is going to be around £9.95. This will be obviously a little more expensive than the Silverstone fan in the OP of this thread but that is the price of customising the product and it not being produced in the same sort of quantities as their mass produced retail model.

obviously if this is a massive success then we can do a larger repeat order and bring the price down a little, but this is a nice product really so in order to do that it needs to be a success in the first place.

The product will be exclusive to OcUK.

I will run a pre order discount on the product when it goes live for a few weeks to give early adopters a price advantage and encourage some end user adoption and feedback.
