GT5 demo December 17 !!!!!

Nothing around corners, though with excessive wheelspin, drifting and locked wheels it happens, I've seen it!

A driving simulator (which this is, correct me if I'm wrong) should be realistic. The screeching noise in previous GTs was irritating as it was the same one over and over.

If this game ever comes out I may buy a PS3 just for it, I do love GT. I was going to get a PS3 on release back in the day when they were hinting GT5 would be a release game. What a load of **** that turned out to be!

Looking forward to this but what Im not happy about is that last week during the press release this was mentioned as being based on GT5.

The only thing that is GT5 and not SPEC III GT5Prologue aparently is the cars physics. Therefore audio, graphics are all using the GT5P engine/build.
Of course it is still nice to get a new car and track to play with but people judging THIS as GT5 are mistaken.

Give it one more day and we can then at least give our opinions on the handling.

PD upto this point do not seem that interested in:

Highly modelled animated crowds.
Tyre smoke and laid rubber on track
Exhaust flames

I mentioned this recently elsewhere and if you like all that then maybe Dirt 2 or indeed SHIFT is the best examples of them.

PD do however concentrate on the cars, arrucate models and certainly the best graphics regards the cars even compared to PC titles.

May I point out that FM3 interiors/cockpits while some arnt bad in general arent a patch on GT5P and also GT5P inlcudes a modelled rear seat and back window view youd get in the car when looking back in cockpit mode.

Additionaly because of their attention to detail it will include "Active Aero" on car spoilers and air brakes and the so much talked about damage in GT5 seems to certainly be more advanced than the basic damage within FM3 or other titles.

If people want to go fault finding sure they will find them but you should also give credit to other things.

It's not a demo.

Question: Does it demonstrate the game?
Answer: Yes

If you don't see this as a demo, then you obviously have some other understanding of what a demo should be, you know, something outside a brainy persons train of thought.

*edited as I was overly cranky*

I love GT, having played each one extensively from the original up to GT5P, and the one thing that really grinds my gears is the constant tyre squeal. No matter what compound tyre you have selected for the race, as soon as you even think about turning the wheel, the tyres start to squeal. Not only is it completely unrealistic (this is supposed to be a "The Real Driving Simulator") it's also very irritating too.

The lack of tyre smoke and laid down rubber are also bug bears of mine, but nowhere near as much as that god damn constant squealing.

That said though, I'll be getting the game on release day regardless. :)

Same here can't wait for this to be released might get some use out of my PS3 then :(

The tyre squeeling in GT5P is different to previous games, even the GTHD download that is still on my system.

Yes still annoying but it is in the game for a reason.
If you can avoid the wheelspin particulary in braking and acceleration areas you will be faster, trust me.

Its now up on JPN PSN store 201MB you cant miss it its in the first panel on the store its a very quick download mine took about 3 minutes.

Urgh, they still insist on having Accel/Brake on the face buttons by default :/

Guess it shows how much the PS pad sucks for driving games :p

Doubt anybodies going to be blown away by this. It looks, sounds and handles quite nicely but it I doubt it will be representative of the final game, and I agree people shouldn't be calling this a demo.

Edit - one thing, the car (Tuned) does feel a little 'light'.

Every time I turn my PS3 on I end up updating the firmware to a new version. I should use it more often :)

Thanks for the heads up.

yay downloading!

Considering my PS3's future on this demo...I had to shift away a thick layer of dust from the controller this morning :o

Its quite funny that people have a PS3 but dont play any games on it :p there are some good games to be played on it honestly :D , had a few laps in the untuned car it looks like prologue to me but that isnt a bad thing .
