** GTA IV: It feels like a chore to continue playing SP mode thread**

The more I play, the more 10/10 seems ridiculous. The missions are just so repetitive, SA had a fair amount of variety. This is just drive here, kill all these retard AI enemies, escape from cops.

Then there is the frame rate. Big firefight? Hope you don't need to do anything in a hurry.

The engine only wants to load about 8 different car models at a time so as already said if you have a crap car you're stuck with it, this sucks hard.

pretty much bored to death of this, its just so repetative its untrue. I dont really seem to be getting much in the way of framerate issues, I have had the odd missing /late texture loaded though.

I cant see me ever finishing it, its just to much of a grind, might flog it whilst the hype machine is still rolling.

i got bored about 38% on the second island and its just to much the same
no feeling that you are doing anything like in vice city you took over the city you were going somewhere

Quite bored of it, but keep at it in the hope it gets better (as people say it does) plus I'm trying for the Liberty City Minute achievment (which I think I'm gonna miss).
My trouble is I'm rubbish at driving in it, currently trying to do the No.1 mission, which = fail :(

I'm starting to feel the same way. Loved it at first but I'm coming towards the end of the game and I'm almost loathed to put the disk in to finish it.

Traded my copy in yesterday ....... what can I say, have I out grown the whole GTA ' style ' or have my tastes changed as a gamer?

Either way after the initial rush I got bored very quickly.

Are you guys bored cause you played all the other GTA games and its just kinda more of the same, or is it really just stale?

Would like to know how people have never played a GTA game are finding it.

Bought it couple days ago and its still in its shrink wrap. Might just take it back and wait til its cheap if it really is that boring.

I think there's a good chance I'll be selling mine, May sell it with the unopened box of MS points that came with it too :p

Interesting thread, I kept away from GTA because I've never played it before and thought i'd just play it at a later date from a Members market bargain.

Don't you guys think the game would have been better if played over say 3 months off and on for an hour or two here and there?

Rather than desperately trying to hammer out such a huge game in a short space of time?

Thats where I think I went wrong with mass effect.

I havent played any of the others, apart from the original back in the day but you can't count that really as a) I can't really remember it and b) its completly different.
So basically I don't miss the stuff everyone says has been removed since SA or VC. The main thing that ****** me off is how the save game is implemented, mainly the fact that I can't save just before attempting a mission. So if I fail the mission (more than likely first time) I have to go through all the getting a car/taxi to drive to the person, then going to the mission start point etc!
While I love running around killing people (virtually of course) it just gets boring because the mission are so drawn out.

I've never played much of the previous games (except the original) and I've found it very tedious.. and i'm playing it in small chunks at a time. I generally load it up because I feel I should do after paying for it, rather than actually wanting to play.

Hmmm, not sounding good. I get bored very easily. Mass Effect only just holding my attention currently, and I am probably persevering more than usual as I am off for the next 4 weeks after having an op - i.e. I have plenty of time to kill.
