** GTA IV: It feels like a chore to continue playing SP mode thread**

GTA4 picks up big time at 40%! I'm on the entourage mission now and the stupid politician keeps getting in the way of my grenades and bullets. So annoying when they just stand there waiting to get shot. Just like on the bank heist mission, packie and co just rush outside into a barrage of bullets. WTF?!?

Kid nap mission is by far one of the most fun missions. :D

Was just about to post saying that yeah, once you hit 40% the game really hitches up. I've noticed quite a few people here saying it's boring and that they're around 30% through. It's probably between 30% and 39% that the story drys up, once you hit 40% it gets back into motion. I've noticed a lot more "story" missions once i hit 40% than just the same old "kill him, lose your level".
 
I just hope the game doesn't end the way I think its going to end. I'd be really annoyed if it did.

No spoilers talking about the ending, I'm 52% and almost there.
 
im 60% through the game. i quite like it myself lol. Ive played this the most out of all the games ive had recently. Not sure how much ill play it once i finish the story (which is looking like tonight)

I've been taken in by them all until this one, GTA3- dull, vice city- dull, San Andreas- dull (played my boys copy of this one).
Have not even bothered with GTA4 , by the looks of things its a bit flashier, a few more novelty bits but overall........... dull.

I got them all to 90% to get the achievement and the bonuses, then I just kinda left them, going out every now and then just to tide them over really.

They should be though, they tick all the right boxes:

Cars- Check
Guns- check.
Cars and guns- check.
Free roaming- check.
Killing whores- check.

They just do it in the most boring way.
I think its a combination of the shoddy controls, limitations of the systems and the limitations of the game designers imagination.

Mabye in a few iterations of consoles they will be able to make the game everyone wants the GTA series to be.
 
GTA4 Dissapointment ?

I enjoyed it but the missions just got too unrealistic and to difficult!
anyone else feel the same ?
 
GTA IV is about as easy as Grand Theft Auto gets.
