** GTA IV: It feels like a chore to continue playing SP mode thread**

Doesn't really bother me, but you can see why people would bring it up. It's not a matter of whether or not the forums can handle it.

Couldn't help but notice you start your thread off with this:

Somewhat of an acknowledgment that excessive threads on the same subject might annoy people, wouldn't you say? :p

Of course, I'm fully aware of my acknowledgement thanks. Difference being I don't whine about them but would simply RTM if I felt there were too many popping up and it annoyed me.

Difference is RTM-ing leads to the thread being closed at some point in the future. Several people telling you that looking for other threads that already exist might possibly teach you to do that in the future? I don't mean to sound all preachy but its common courtesy.
 
Same thing if you see a sweary really, no trouble to just point it out as opposed to reporting it.

Just different attitudes I suppose, some like to run off and snitch, others like to cut out the middle man. If I've used RTM even twice I'd be surprised.

I get your meaning but surely closure of a thread is not a big enough lesson that perhaps you may have done something wrong

RTM is not just for the closure of threads though. You could even push the boat and and request a merge. Who knows.

Why get yourself in a flap over duplicate threads. Different attitudes I suppose. Some prefer to invite the middle man to deal with the hassle and save them wasting their breath :)

That's the whole reason for the Dons it's got nothing to do with "snitching" you're not at Secondary school now :)

You'd do more good for the forum by reporting the bad threads/posts instead of "contributing" to them.

Don't you worry, I'm really not in a flap over duplicate threads. I'm only putting forward a point of view since you obviously felt it ridiculous that Shamikebab would even comment on it being a duplicate.
 
Course it's not ridiculous but he put it across in such a manner that was hardly helpful in anyway towards actually solving the problem. Anyway back to GTA ranting kthx.
 
I thought the issue was the fact that he pointed it out (rather than the manner in which he pointed it out). I'm just trying to be clear on what you're saying, because for a while it seemed like you were saying don't say anything, just RTM. Now are you saying you can point it out but you have to word it nicely?

But anyway, you're right. This is a meaningless argument. Let's just leave it at I'm right, you're wrong. :p

I'm saying either are acceptable ways of resolution.

Ranting at someone gets you absoloutely no where it turns into a subsequent flamefest and bitching ensues. Asking them politely more than likely avoids this.

RTM and sit back is the preferred choice.
 
Stop winging because he did anew thread, theres like 10 posts of crap in here because of your moaning i got no problem if somone does another thread, i agree the game is a dissapointment, i aint touched mine for a good week now.

:D TBH i was dissapointed with the post completion world, only took me a day to complete give or take (2 hardcore days actually 29hrs just checked) but wasnt all that hard, i mean i could name many games that are much harder. The multi is superb though, ranked is something of an arse but get in a friendly free roam level with some mates and start launching MP games and its just brilliant.

Never deserved a 10/10 though, but magazines know that if they gave it less they wouldnt sell so well, i found this out the hard way by posting on another forum (about 3-4days prior to release) that i had it pegged more like 7/10 maybe 8/10 at a push. I still recieve hate mail to this day despite the fact that at the time i was the only publicly visible person in the world i geuss who had finished it. Such is the fan base of some games, one kid said he was gonna kill my family if i didnt change the review score.... Imagine what could have happened if a major gaming site had done the same, they may have been damamged forever.
