GTA V Multiplayer thread (360, XBOX ONE, PS3 and PS4)

Suspect Fashion, even in GTA :p

So, honest opinions... did this live up to the hype?

After finishing the main story on PS3 I sold my copy without even trying the MP. I had no interest in the MP at all.

On one side.

It is repetitive and tedious to the hilts. I did not expect to level up for multiplayer, it's not Eve or WoW, but that element is in there, not to make the character stronger, more about unlocking weapons and items.

The races and missions get old quite fast as well but there are quite a lot of them, in a way, its a bargain because it could almost be like Project Gotham Racing or Need for Speed and this is free.

On the other side.

Free roaming is fun, think of single player but now in multiplayer so you can fight the cops together. You can even have a impromtu deathmatch on the streets.

Online has a lot but because it has SO much in it, I am not sure which is best and it seem diluted as a result.

I think overall, it's worth a shot, I am playing it more at the moment than single player.

Nope. At least not in my opinion. It should have shipped with all of the features that Rockstar were promoting, instead we'll get them God knows when, by which time most people will have moved onto something else.

It is probably the best and most fun MP game I have ever played, but it was shipped broken and unfinished and who knows when we'll actually get any of the advertised features which are missing added to the game?

It's been a farce from start to finish - the stimulus package never came and is now irrelevant because 99% of players have millions in the bank from car sales now anyway - and the lack of custom missions and races is a huge gap that needs filling, plus where are the traditional game modes from GTA IV?

Don't even mention the Heists, which again will be pointless because why will people spend 2 hours planning and excuting a heist now money in the game has no value thanks to the car selling glitch they've known about for weeks and have still yet to patch?

And that's why I've not bothered to really focus on the online part for the console side of the game. I've played the single player and seen one ending. I will replay it on PC to see another ending then I'll focus on the multiplayer on that platform because at least glitches like that will be fixed.

Or so you'd hope!

Yeah but it's a Rockstar game so I imagine you'll need 16GB of RAM, a 3GB graphics card to run it at an acceptable rate, the game will only "see" 2GB though leading to a third party patch to fix the problem, oh and it'll run like a dog and ignore half your cores too I imagine. :p

It does feel like since the GTA 3 era things have all got a bit serious. Where is the random messing about? I want jet packs, and RC cars laced with explosives, and unlockable taxis with spikes on, and missions to put giant boobs on a building, vigilante missions in police cars, fire fighting missions, giant *****s to batter people with, radio shows that make me laugh out loud, Pogo the Monkey, gangs who hate you and pure fun.

Car insurance, being a good sport, and saving to buy a house are all.... boring.

Ain't that the truth. I still can't run IV smooth.

I know many will disagree and from a technical standpoint they are right as VC and SA added many gameplay improvements and a hell of a lot more content, but my favourite is still GTA III.

With that rig?! That's quite an accomplishment. :o

Yeah it just doesn't like it! Even on my SSD it still stutters and hovers around the 30-40 FPS mark.

TBoGT runs about the smoothest.

Playing earlier with some mates :D someone added 1 billion to my online character. So funny mmmmm bought every possible plane boat tank ,got every weapon at lvl 95 tank all the best cars fully modded :D. I am gunna have so much fun, remote bombs on everything endless mercenarys muggers HA ha thanks hacker who ever you where.

Like I have, glad I didn't bother with it then.

Its all down to personal opinion. If you take it for face value for what it is, a fun MP game that you can have a laugh with friends then I would highly recommend it.

If you dont play with mates then it could get boring pretty fast. Im still having a blast with it but then again I havent done any glitching so money is still a good thing.

Its the sort of game you can pick up and have a blast and put down without having to worry about much. I think its a good game for anyone to have in their collection.

I think i have narrowed down my 10 vehicles.

1) Fast car - Entity XF (6)
2) Interesting convertible/Classic - Vapid Peyote (7)
3) Fast 2 seater convertible - Invetero Coquette (9)
4) American Muscle - Vapid Dominator (9)

5) Interesting Bike - Western Daemon (7)
6) Van - Bravado Youga (7)
7) Off road/truck - Vapid Sandking SWB - (6)
8) Fast 4 seater* - undecided
9) SUV? - Benefactor Dubsta (9)
10)

(?) the numbers inside the brackets is the number of mods available on the car - Bumpers, Exhaust, Fenders, Grille, Hood, Roof, Skirts, Spoiler, Turbo, Roll cage, side step, Fuel tank, Truck bed, Chassie, etc. Some cars have as much as 9, a lot have 0. They are taken from GTA Official guide.

*4 seater is tricky, The Karin Sultan is classed as a "Sports" car class, in the same class as the Invetero Coquette and the Benefactor Feltzer strangely enough. A proper saloon (Sedan) would be the Obey Tailgater, which actually has the same Top Speed, better traction and braking. The Sultan does accelerate faster by 15%.

I want as many varied vehicle as possible, might add an extra American Muscle in there, a classic one - Declasse Sabre Turbo (8) or the Rat-Loader (7). Or a Sports Classic, but the problem with the classic, most of them don't have many modding options, except the Albany Manana (looks like a Lincoln), or the Vapid Peyote, which I already have. The Truffade z-Type could be good, it is like an old style hot rod racing with a modding option of (5).

Strike off means I've got it already.

p.s. The Youga is bloody impossible to find, been looking for it tonight driving down the map all over.

I was not hyped for this game at all, so I can't say if it lived up to the hype or not.

I was excited when I first saw it on the shelves and my friend was gonna buy it. Friends bought it for me a week later. :D

Still, when they gave it to me, I was not too excited. That night, I played BF4 Beta, and not GTA.

I was expecting a good SP, and a solid MP, with heists, free roam, etc. I don't like the job system, or the lack of diverse missions.

Also, I seem to get into games where we can't fill an 8 man lobby. When we do, someone decided to disconnect or leave.

Do I like the game? SP was great, really liked it! MP, not so much. I can see it being better with a group of friends (1 friend helps, but not too much). We are still low ranks, so we might have not experienced all the cool missions yet.

EDIT: Did a search for Stimulus Package as I had no idea what it is. Found this. http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2013/nov/04/gta-online-stimulus-package

Seems like I qualify for the free cash, so quite happy with that. Seems like we should get it until the end of next week.
