I can now see the bigger picture from Rockstar. They actually waited to release the PC version until they created the PS4 and Xbox One versions. Which means it'll still be a port, but way more enhanced and hopefully with some added extra's.
They days of cross platform releases having a specific version for PC have gone.
Now that Xbox one / PS4 use the same architecture as PC it makes much more financial sense to develop all 3 versions at the same time.
The only way you'll get a game with a PC only dedicated version, will be if its released on PC only and maybe later gets a console version later like Planetside 2.
As with everything though, there are console ports, and there are console ports. Just because they developed the PC and PS4 / XB1 versions at the same time, doesn't mean the PC version should have no extra graphics options , reference console controls in the instruction text, not have modding etc.. that's a lazy port.
