I'm hoping there will be steam achievements, plus maybe steam workshop support. I just like to have all my games on steam as well. Hate keeping track of all the different patches and other nonsense. With steam its install and forget.

So people want to pay £40, to play a game through steam for "The ease of it"

Which will involve clicking steam, then the game, so the game launcher can be launched by steam, so you can launch the game? :p

No for the ease of downloading 65GB!

I had a nightmare of a time downloading 32GB a few weeks ago on Uplay and don't won't to experience it again :D

The reason I don't think there will be Steam workshop support is that multiplayer and single player assets are so intertwined that I doubt they will be able to let people mod the game too much without compromising the integrity of the multiplayer.

It's a game built for (very) old consoles tarted up for only slightly more powerful "next-gen" consoles and the PC to make a load of extra sales...

Granted they seem to have gone a lot further with it than the average developer does but I will be absolutely amazed if it takes the kind of power discussed to get good results on max settings

Max Payne 3 was a game built for (very) old consoles?! Still looks pretty good on PC with the added graphical options.

I was specifically talking about 4k resolution performance though. I didn't have Rivatuna running for the OSD of GPU usage but I'm pretty sure it was using all 3x GPU's in Crossfire as I could hear the 290x fan going.

I'm not going to be buying the game through Steam, so I'll have to download through the Rockstar Social Club servers, which is slightly worrying seeing their past experience with heavy load (e.g. GTA Online console launch). Hopefully they'll be fast enough, and won't slow down to a snails pace. If pre-loading is indeed true however, that relieves me somewhat. At least I'll be able to download the game, even if it just chugs along.

Never played a gta game on pc, how is it with mouse And keyboard?

Considering the early top down days of GTA on PC, this is a shock!

They're great with mouse and keyboard :) The good thing is you can play with controller too and simply switch between the two on the fly.

What I did with GTA 4 and others was use the controller for driving and flying then switch to the mouse and keyboard for everything else, especially shooting.

I've played lots of fps over the years so hoping this will help me get used to the controls but for some reason I've always plays gta on console, thought it about time I put that right. How much of a pain is it to set up a controller for pc these days? Better to buy a pc one or could I use ps3 ( presuming I don't get on with. Mouse keyboard)

plus gta5 has first person mode

Anyone know if we'll be able to get our own server for multiplayer? Really fancy having a hosted one for what seems to be a fairly substantial number of people planning to play this that I know.

It's easy to set up the controller, it should just be plug and play, and you can set up the controls in the game menu. I'm not sure if you can use the console ones, but they do sell the Xbox 360 controller for Windows. The wired controllers are going for around £20 and the wireless ones for around £30.

Just get a wired Xbox 360 controller plug it in a done. It should work with pretty much most games and doesn't take any configuring.

Simple plug and play
