You know what would be far better for everyone? Setting a date that give them longer than they think they will need, and then bringing it forward if they finish it early.

Yup. But that would require common sense, good project management, and communication throughout the company.

If games companies run like most companies I've worked at, I'm not surprised there's delays. :D

It doesn't help that PC games take A LOT longer to develop compared to the PS4/XBOX-ONE versions.

I cant wait for GTA!

We know Rockstar expect unpaid overtime from devs, we also know they tend to ignore what the devs are telling them - if devs say they need a month to complete something, they get two weeks, then get blasted for being late.

Several Ex-Rockstar staff have pointed this out, they also use an incredible number of temporary contract workers.

Really? Do you have a source/reasoning behind that?

Ah, so like every other company I've worked at. :D Project manager trying to make a name for him/herself by pushing unrealistic timescales, then lambasting the people tasked as a scapegoat.

Or it can be glorious. Regardless it is almost a month into spring.

My enthusiasm for it has just dropped to nearly zero now.

I would just rather pick it up after the summer for more like £15 now.

I'm feeling the same way. Was excited to play through it again when it was first announced to be coming to PC, but now i'm not even the slightest bit excited. Certainly not enough to pay £40 for it.

It doesn't help that a mate I was hoping to do some online heists etc with has ended up triple dipping already, so very much doubt he'll be bothering with a 4th copy on pc.

Meh, going to get one with the Witcher games ready for the Witcher 3 and maybe get gta5 in the summer sale for a more reasonable price. I'd be surprised if it drops to £15 on steam though.

R* treat their devs well, or at least in Edinburgh, can't say for any other branches/teams.

These few extra weeks are probably development time on an equivalent of multiple "Day 1 patches" if the game was originally going to release on it's intended (delayed) release date :D Hopefully that just means that the launch is gonna be a bit more smooth (but I really can't imaging it going well at all).

I have to agree my enthusiasm for this game is ebbing away and I'm very glad that I didn't pre order. I am now considering picking up a cheap 360 off the MM and playing GTA on that, something that I have so far resisted since the game first came out.

Meh

I am very disappointed.

I have been part of projects that have been delayed and delayed due to development, legacy integration and user testing experience, so I can understand why there might be another delay.
The port to PC was never going to be easy as it is such a complex game and the amount of changes needed to offer a finished and acceptable product to such a wide spectrum of different hardware and software environments is daunting (I wonder how much additional work was required to accommodate Win 10)

I can't help thinking Online Heist's has taken more effort to bring to market at the expense of PC development though.

Also, not sure having so much starting money is a good thing either. It will mean we are all loaded when the title launches and some of the experience will be reduced as we have to work less to get money.

I can wait however.... not much choice.

Rockstar are master trolls. Three extra delays on top of year of delay already compared to oldgen consoles, this is ridiculous. I wonder if they really are working on it so hard or if they just delayed it to get more money from console gamers.

they aint working on jack ****. 2 year old game, console port, all about the coin and exclusives to MS and Sony. Rockstar hates PC gamers, not on their radar, just an afterthought each iteration of GTA.

I don't see 4k / 60FPS on consoles.

PC has always come last because it's more work, but yeah, you're right in one sense that PC Gamers are far down the list because the profit they make from us is barely noticeable.

Who knows, maybe it's delayed for more work towards Dx12

yep and it's the old, pc gamers will probably pirate anyway so lets milk everything from console first, heists priority, keep delaying pc until the time is right. Guarantee this game wont be 100% polished when it comes out. The excuses for the delay insults my intelligence and just plain makes me laugh. If they polish it any more then Barry Scott will be interested in using it as a cleaning project.

I cancelled my pre-order the other day. Not because of the delays but everyone I know plays it on a console. I might get it eventually on the PC when the prices drops but for me I want to play it online with my mates and if that means getting it on a console, so be it.

No email from Amazon yet telling me of the date change.

Sure I want to play it but when doesn't really matter as long as it's before summer!
