GTA V

Not a chance, less people have optical drives in their computers now than they did 8 years ago. Also way more digital downloads sell on PC now compare to retail discs be sold.....if the game ever comes out on retail.

Good luck to anyone buying this on retail version. Max Payne 3 came on 4 dual layer DVD's and took nearly 2 hours to install. Hate to think how long 7 discs would take.

Batman Arkham Knight isn't even getting a disc release in the UK! Blu-Ray drives will never become as popular as DVD drives had to. I didn't buy one until BF2 was released as that was DVD only. Internet speeds back then were much lower than they are now for most people.

why is the refresh rate only 29hz in that screenie above? as Vsync is ON wouldnt that limit fps to 29 also?
it shows the gfx card has 6gb of Vram so it must be a Nvidia card?? 780 or Titan i guess

Could have been the 4k monitor or connection type they were using rather than any option or game limitation? Some 4k monitors will only push 30Hz refresh depending on the connection used.

I will just be happy if it runs well at 2560x1080 natively without borders.

if i recall it was only adjusting the FOV while on foot tho, for me personally i would love the option to adjust it while in car too as the view seems very cramped, ability to adjust seat position or something would help loads

There seem to be an awful lot of teenagers buying/downloading a PEGI-18 game !

I'd have murdered kittens for a game like this when I was 15 !

Good luck to them

There's no doubt some skepticism based on some past ports of Rockstar games, like GTA 4, and the ongoing, slightly heartbreaking absence of Red Dead Redemption on PC might make you wonder how much the publisher values the platform next to consoles. Max Payne 3 was a vast improvement, though, and I see no reason to be concerned with GTA 5 either—this port looks incredible and I swore a hell of a lot (in a good way) at the gorgeous skylines during my hands-on. This is a handsome game.

I was shown the game in 4K resolution running at 60fps. The PC Rockstar was demoing it on is outside the price range of most consumers, with an i7 [email protected], SLI GTX 980, 32GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, but that’s just to show off how pretty it can look. Rockstar says that even average rigs won’t have a problem getting great 1080p performance out of the game, which is encouraging. Scalability is a priority for them.

Bit of an impressions article about the PC version with some info on the port. I'm watching one of the linked videos now for more details.

Just need 980s to drop in value now and I'll plonk another strix in :).

One interesting point is that the pc gamer mentioned a x99 rig. Wonder how influential that is from core count perspective.

Wonder why the second shot is showing a different ram usage amount, its only 2.6gb, unless they've dropped some settings :p

That GTAV review sound utterly amazing, seems we may have a decent port!

Roll on Monday 00:00 then! Might even pull an all nighter, can always sleep at my desk on Tuesday.

Yes I think they were playing around, as there's a another screenshot with a different amount of memory used.

What makes you think 00:00 on Monday?

So I'll be looking at around medium with some options turned down for 5960 x 1200 on 670 SLI? Hmm the upgrade itch to a titan or 980SLI is bugging me even more now.

The countdown timer on my PC screen.
