i5 750 overclocked to 3.6ghz with corsair H50 watercooler. These temps certainly don't seem quite right, normally at least 10c lower, at least they were last time I checked. *investigates*

Had to check emails as I couldn't remember what the cooler was, bought most of this system in 2009. Didn't realise I was running a 5+ year old computer

If it's not been touched in a while then it should just need a bit of fresh thermal paste and heatsinks cleaned off hopefully :)

I've just streamed a Steam game to my HTPC for the first time, and it works flawlessly. Just found another reason why I'm glad I bought the steam version cos that's going to be quite handy if I want to sit on my bed and play it on a 50" TV :D

Ooh. This is intriguing. May I ask how you are streaming? (Wifi or wired?)
Also what kind of resolutions do you stream to your HTPC? and may I ask what are you using to control? (360 pad presumably?)

So don't? Greenmangaming has it with a discount code that's been listed several times in the past few pages which makes it around £30. It's not on steam, it's a Rockstar social club thing but a small price to pay IMO.

I actually had the GMG preorder but cancelled it because I want all my games on Steam tbh.
You are right, it can be had for less, but dammit Im getting sick of my games being spread around via multiple clients.

Okay, so that means you will most probably buy this tomorrow. :D

You're in 2 minds and very excited.

Dagnamit it. Stop that! :p

45C idle? it should be at near room temperature mate, sounds like it needs new thermal paste or the heatsink is loose.

Yeah that's what my first thought was. Fan is spinning and radiator feels warm so I'd guess the pump is still working. It's securely attached to the motherboard still so hasn't worked loose.

I'll try running it with computer off to see if I can feel/hear the pump running, and redo the thermal paste. Might just have to watch temps if I haven't sorted it by Tuesday.

Gigabit ethernet, HTPC is running 1080p to my TV, picture quality isn't compromised at all.

And yeah 360 pad, I just got a wireless one today to replace a very old wired one.

I am wanting to pre order this now as the preload is available (the only real reason to preorder a game imo) but i'm actually put off by the pre order bonus. I acually want to earn my ingame currency, not do what amounts to a cheat and get 1.2 million to start with! I'm sure there will be away to disable this tho.

What spec is the htpc? I have a kabini can I do this?

Just had a look as I've not looked in so long! It's not very powerful but JC2 at least ran perfectly. I'm just reinstalling a couple more games like GTA 4 to try tomorrow night.

I have my CPU on a H100 and it never goes over 38/39 degrees under full load and it's OC'd by 20%. You're idling higher than I go with my I5-3570K

should have bought from steam, for the money saved I'm not convinced RSSC will have it downloaded in time for release, bouncing between 200kb/s and 50kb/s been downloading it for over 6hours now and only mananged 20gb of the DL done

Checked my net by downloading on steam - 20MB/s speed
If this is what downloading patches for the game is going to be like I may just swap to steam :(

You will be fine. Mine was downloading at 8kbps and I left it on all night. It was done by 6am the next morning, so 12 hours in total roughly.
