TRREEEVVOOORRRR!

epic Trevor is epic.

I find it hard to believe what we are seeing in the trailers is running on either a PS3 or 360.

Why? The graphics are hardly groundbreaking. You can still count the polygons used in each character on one hand.

Looks very "this gen" to me. If that is PS4 graphics then that is awful.

Anyway, lol at Trevor :D

GTA4 was pushing the 360 and PS3 pretty hard at the time, they'd have to have made some pretty spectacular improvements to their game engine to be able to optimise it to such an extent that the game looks and plays like that on the same hardware.

Cant wait for this, i cant decide whether to buy it on PC or the Xbox with my friends....

The hill billy looks by far the most entertaining!

"Nice new **** by the way!"

They've had like 4+ years and several games to opitimise the engine, it's not that hard to believe.

I'm sorry i don't see it. It is hardly a massive improvement over GTA4 graphics. All i can see is it has some slightly nicer effects and better facial animations. The models are still very blocky, the body animations are still fairly simple and the textures arent up to much either.

'm not saying it is bad looking game. I think it looks great for such a big open world game, but it is still very much "this generation" looks wise.

Oh well, I don't see it looking exactly like that on the currents consoles. They had to sacrifice framerate and resolution in GTA4 on account of all the detail, so if they've managed to improve that all while improving the level of detail too, I'll be impressed.

Well if it's PC footage then they should just release the PC version first and delay the console peasants :D

I totally agree with you mate, I really don't see any massive improvement from the last GTA and tbh I'm a little dissapointed.
That said hopefully the full game will show some improvements.

I'm sure there will be lots of great content in the game, some GTAs have been epic. I just hope it works properly unlike the last one with its shocking performance issues. I will not be buying until its performance is proven, so definitely no pre-purchase for this one.

I really cant understand, they must have know a new generation of consoles was right around the corner. Within two to three months of GTAV being released, afaik, people will either have the next gen console or be planning to get one.

And with some of the headlining games being talked about, its going to make GTAV look ancient. Rockstar almost always comes through with some stellar gameplay at least... But at this stage i cant help but wonder what a GTAV on the PS4/Nextbox would have been like.

First of all, within 2 to 3 months of September people will either have a next gen console or be planning to get one? Dream on. They're not just going to give up on a lot of sales because there's a new gen coming, making it next gen only would reduce their sales drastically.

Secondly, gameplay over graphics. I can almost guarantee that GTA5 will be better than all of the early next gen titles. GTA4 is hardly a slouch visually and 5 looks good from what we've seen so far.

Thirdly there may even be a next gen release as well (probably close to PC version) so win-win.

The userbase of current consoles is massive now though, they wouldn't be able to afford to ignore all those customers.

Have you played GTA4 on a console? It doesn't look nearly as good as the GTA5 footage has so far.

Until (if ever) some actual gameplay footage is released, it's going to be impossible to judge properly really.
