GTA V

The graphics look way better than GTA4. It looks very similar to Max Payne 3, probably cos its running on the same revision of the game engine. Compare Max Payne 3 and GTA4 next to each other, theres no contest.

EDIT: I liked the cash truck robbery bit, using a lorry to smash into it and then blow the doors off. Movie Heat anyone?

Yeap, they've been using the same engine since IV
Max Payne 3 was a great port, run flawlessly on even lower end hardware, can't see why they cant do the same to GTAV!
RAGE engine, used in plenty of Rockstar Games :) Certainly come a long way!

No doubt it'll (hopefully) be as graphically advanced as MP3, have to consider the fact though that the environment is on a completely different scale to Max Payne with a hell of a lot more AI. I have faith :)

I wasnt sure at first about the 3 toons you control. But if they all have seperate missions and "some" story missions together then VERY cool and i look forward to that as i love doing all them missions in the gta games. Not sure about how often you are forced to switch tho i hope its a your decision as to when kind of approach. If not then i hope the forced bits arnt that many and are spaced out well enough.

SA looks pretty cool from the looks of the city from the vids. Certainly bigger in scope than gta sa was i just hope its layout is at least mostly what it was from gta sa as i knew my way around after playing so long. If things change then fair enough but as long as a lot of it is similar then thats cool. I just hope the desert the mountain and the farmland and such are of a decent size and not dumbed down to tiny areas as much.

About gta 4, hated that game tbh. The environment was nothing but streets which all look the same to me, not much of anything else. It was large enough i guess but too large for a city to remember all the roads and where stuff is imo when they all look the same. Which is why at least in the older gta games streets were better as in able to remember them more as they wernt all tall buildings everywhere. Story wasnt too bad but my god i hated the protagonist.

Gfx while low res as gta4 were in areas ive noticed, the models are better and most of the important objects of the world look decent enough. Just things like road and sidewalk and little bits and bobs look a bit low res. Nothing that modding in the future wouldnt fix i would imagine.

Im just so pleased were going back to a firm favorite of the fans for the location. SA while it had its flaws it was a great environment with distinct character and areas and after awhile playing you knew the world well enough that you didnt get lost.

One thing i hope doesnt make a come back tho is the turfwars. They were a interesting mechanic of gta sa but took far too long and far too much of them i thought.

Hmm that makes me think of if the fat/skinny and eating and stuff systems are coming back since they had that in gta sa. Hope not it was a choir to do and a bit boring imo.

One thing i prey to god has been removed is the horrid animation system they had in gta 4. Yes it was cool but it was very slow do stuff with it i.e run forward then turn around and run back and all sorts of "long times" for the animation to complete before u could do somit. I really like the normal animation system of gta sa etc. Mainly the momentum of actions and the slowness to recover from that is what im getting at here.

LOL @ all the moaning about graphics....

You seriously play a GTA title for graphics?...

Do you people NEVER go back and play an old game? or do you just sit around all day and compare graphics to this and that.

as long as the game play is there people will play it, some old classic NES games are better than most of the so called AAA titles we see getting sold every year, be greatful that R* are still actually trying to push their titles to be the best, adding as much new content as they can every new release (specifically to GTA)

You are the same people that defend the yearly COD releases of the same rehashed crap, for a bigger price tag and such other games that follow the trend. basically killing the gaming industry for fans.

the visuals aren't good enough??? really...wow.

The only problem with GTA 4 was the car handling and throttle response, but seeing as it's not a sim it's easily overlooked so you can carry on enjoying the game.

They are part of the game, just like special effect are for a movie. Matrix wouldn't be the same with '70's technology used for production. :)

Avatar cost what +200mill to make but the story line was nearly the same as Dances with wolves...so don't think that the Matrix would have been as great of a movie if the storyline was not as gripping and mindblowing as it was back the day.

Didn't put it in any other way myself. A good game has good graphics, sound, control, storyline/characters and gameplay. You can't have one when a part of it is "broken" somehow.

So we've established that graphics and gameplay are both important? Who would have thought...

The shock and horror! :p

The story is always good and funny at times, the music is epic, the gameplay is good not perfect but good all I want is a bigger map and a few more radio stations, let the mod community do the rest.
