GTA V

that will never happen. if you look at previous releases, it's been at least 7-8 months after the console. i'd love you guys to be right but i really don't think so.

The only way I see this possible is if they release the PS4/XboxOne/PC version all at once... After they've got the older console sales.

But no evidence for this whatsoever.

Has there ever been a precedent for a game to be released on two different console generations in such a short span of time?

I'm trying to get a feel for when the PC version will drop… as others have pointed out, a minimum of 7 to 8 months has been the norm so far.

Some games are better left to play on console unless they actually port them properly and optimize. PC has the odd exclusive as well.

Everyone moaned about GTA4 being poorly optimised and a bad port but with mods in 1440p it looks nothing like the console version.

From videos I have seen of GTA5, yes, its looks fantastic on 7 year old hardware but IMO still not as good as modded GTA4 on PC in max res & settings.

It just goes to show what can be done with code and how well PC games should look and how PS4 and Xbox One games will look soon :)

The HD video streams I've been watching from PS3 players on twitch show it to be vastly better than modded GTA4. The shadows, water and animations mostly but also night time lighting.

Textures of road surfaces and other details are also much better.

I've had modded GTA 4, even at 1440P it looks washed out and not as lively as GTA5 does and that's just looking at GTA 5 videos on Twitch.

Well it looks like there will be a combined release of a pc/ps4/xbox one version with upgraded graphics at some point in the future.

It's not. People are guessing there will be a PC version (and there almost certainly will be), but it's not even been confirmed it's coming out on PC, let alone a release date.

Yep @ the yellow bit. Just a matter of time lads... they need to milk the console sales for a while first.

I'm going to wait for it to be out on PC or possibly a next gen console if I get one, I'd prefer PC though. I'm not going to play it on the toasters that are the current consoles :p

Because despite those games potentially being great (Black Flag? Really?)... We are all wanting to play GTA.

Watch Dogs isn't out until November, and whilst I'm certain it'll be a fantastic game... It's completely different from GTA.

It's not all about ticking the box of what you've played, there's something great about being part of the game's launch... Midnight releases, sharing our discoveries and the excitement.

Rockstar are being sly for sure, but I'm not going to miss out on the experience because the graphics aren't as good.

What's wrong with Black Flag? It looks like the best AC yet by a mile, and it's going to have 50x better ship combat than 3 did (and 3's was awesome!). Rockstar are dirt, there are a lot of people like myself who only have PCs, and I'm not going to buy a console just to play this, when the PC version will retail at full price. I don't have a 3DS and Pokémon launches next month, and that's way more important. Rockstar are just morons, they have no benefit of getting someone to buy it on console instead of PC, you get way more profit per unit on Steam/Uplay/Origin than you ever will on consoles until the retailer is cut out of the equation completely (can't happen soon enough). The people with consoles are going to buy it on console whether or not there is a PC version, and then hundreds thousands like myself can bump up the sales figures with PC.

If Rockstar do release it on PC and feel the sting of piracy from annoyed gamers (and rightly so) they only have their own fail to blame for that. If you look at the official GTA V facebook page, every single status Rockstar have released has top comments with hundreds of upvotes asking wtf is going on with the PC version, that and the petition almost reaching 400,000 should be enough to make them realise that it's way more profitable releasing it on PC alongside consoles simply because theres way more money per unit. Instead they'll wait a year, get watered down sales because everyone with both systems has already played it and are bored, and a lot of ****ed off (more like on) PC gamers will be too annoyed to buy it or will just outright pirate it as a way to show that this kind of treatment is bull****.

Whoever is in charge of strategy and marketing over there is a complete moron, PC gaming is something any developer with a brain will want to dive into ASAP alongside consoles for maximum profit, not just ignore it completely.

Every AssCreed game since 1/2 has been terrible? But that is just my opinion, has no place in this thread, and doesn't at all affect whether or not you like them :)

As for the piracy issue, PS3 and Xbox versions were on PirateBay before launch... Sooo, there's that...
