GTA V

Time to build a new PC I think?

Will be picking this up on Xbox One but would like to see it running at absolutely max settings.

I keep citing Max Payne 3 as an example.

You also have to remember that the last gen consoles are a lot further removed from PC's than the Xbox One and PS4 are. Hence porting GTA IV over (at the time) was more complicated.

Rockstar have had nearly a year to port GTA V across to what are essentially variations on PC's.

I would think the PC version will be the definitive version and Rockstar would have learnt their lessons from GTA IV.

Not to mention the fact that GTA4 ran a bit poorly even on the consoles. GTA5 was a far smoother experience because the engine was better-optimised, so no doubt much of that will translate over to the new versions of the game too.

I've always said that when it's released for the next-gen consoles, it'll also be released for PC, just because of the similarities between their architecture.

Cannot wait though :D Loved it on my 360, played it last night and was still taken aback by just HOW good it looks.

EDIT:

Yep, and bear in mind that GTA4 was their first GTA game on that generation. The next one was always going to be better in terms of optimisation, simply because they can take lessons learned from the dev process and post-mortems of 4 and apply it to 5. Same can be said of most developers where they have had multiple games on the same platform tbh.

I did the same and have been awaiting news on a PC release since the games was announced back in 2011. Again I am also kind of glad (and a bit smug) that I waited for the PC version.

As for the 'optimisation' I think it could go either way I just hope that it will be good.

Found out it was coming to PC yesterday, I wasn't surprised because I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. I'm glad they're releasing it alongside the re-vamped 'next-gen' versions rather than alongside the last gen versions to be honest. :)

GTA V for PC is supposedly (and not surprisingly) being developed by Rockstar Leeds, the team behind the great job of the PC version of Max Payne 3. Information has been circulating around the web about recent job listings that have been put up.

Do you know if Leeds also handled the Xbox One and Ps4 ports?

Just noticed that it is available to pre order on Amazon for £45

I would be willing to pay around £30 - £40 but £45 is asking a bit much, and I think many others may feel the same. With any luck the price will drop by about £10 in the run up launch otherwise I can see many more people deciding to pirate this game.

less than £25...

I intend to not pay much over £20. Will wait for more pre-order deals.

Why are they selling it as GFWL? Isn't that shutting down next month?

I'm going to wait until closer to the release date, sure most places wil, have steam keys for pre-order.

Or might get it as a retail copy incase modding it is easier.
