GTA V

The PC version of GTA 4 was a console port. The pc version now stands a very good chance given the xbox one and PS4 both use x86-64 instruction sets.

Hoping that they've spent a lot of time getting the PC version optimized due to what happened with GTA 4. It's doubtful that they would have spent a whole lot of time on it though as console is where the money is at.

Did you read what I said at all? :P The XBOX ONE and PS4 both share the same architecture as your average computer. Infact their specs are rather low end. The game will be very very easy to port over from the PS4/XBOX One.

Problem with GTA IV is that Rockstar didn't do it, they outsourced it which is never a good idea. It was still better than consoles though, sure it didn't run great and the fps was dodgy but it wasn't nearly as bad as the consoles in that regard.

Can say that about pretty much every PC game released now tbh, they all get released needing extra patches not sure why everyone attacks gta 4 for it. Least it got patched up, runs great on today's hardware as well.

Amazing, cheers Spook.

I think it's good that GTA was made in the UK, there don't seem to be many games made here...

I infact did read what you said but to be frank it's not a sure thing that the port is going to be great. Watch Dogs is an example of that, not the greatest looking game out there but the majority of pc users can't run it without stuttering and fps drops. While I seem to be all negative about this, I truly hope it turns out well. There's just no point in saying it's going to be a good port and telling people with doubts that they are wrong because frankly nobody except Rockstar know how well optimised the game will be.

I think the PS4 and XBox one versions will receive the most attention. Pc gamers with High end systems is still a very small margin compared to even next gen console users. My money is on the PC version being a direct port of the next gen consoles with a few extra settings requiring huge GPU power to run it nice.

Also the piracy issue on PC will put off Rockstar investing heavily into a PC version.

Just my opinion of course..

They did a decent anti piracy thing on GTAIV, screen was like you were on a boat, made the game completely unplayable.

Hopefully if they make it decently priced and a good port which is open to the modders it won't be "that" heavily pirated.

Outsourced to themselves in Leeds you mean  it also ran just fine if you have at least a 3 Core CPU. Like most GTA games it needs high end hardware @ launch to run. Nvidia were promising 1.5GB Vram GPU's to Rockstar but due to Kepler delays they were not ready for GTA4 launch.

Nowdays you need a mid range GPU with at least 1.5GB VRam & 3 or 4 core CPU to see how good GTAIV looks but even an GTX260-216 + Core i7-965XE produced 30FPS @ launch so it was only poor if you did not have a high end PC ;)

I "never" pirated any of the previous GTA games, but I will make sure I try even harder not to pirate GTA 5 ;)

You people make me sick. I hope there is a bitcoin miner included that breaks you GPU's.

Much like all other forms of mining which break GPU's.

I only pirated GTAIV after the steam version wouldn't work, got it working on steam and played it through that.

Don't like pirated game, never know what I am downloading.

GTA V was on Steam 6 months before it got announced.

There's tons of games made in the UK...?

To name a few devlopers:

Rockstar North
Media Molecule
Lionhead Studios
SCE Studio Liverpool
Jagex
Criterion
Creative Assembly
Rare Ltd.
Team17
Free Radical Design (or Crytek UK)

Just to name a few, all made fantastic games also.

Oh. Maybe none of the games I play? :p
