GTA V

GTA 4 came out in 2008, the final DLC came out in 2010, GTA V first arrived in 2013 but still hasn't come out on all platforms nor have heists. Plus they normally have expansions or DLCs for each generation which haven't be announced.

Is R* 1/3 of the way through the next game? Not a chance.

As far as I am aware nobody knows about the hard copy of the game. I think the theory is that it is a non steam version.

The retail versions have to be run through Rockstar's Social Club which is why I preordered through steam, although that has just added me another level of DRM :D

I'd prefer Steam but I refuse to be conned - it is £5 cheaper to have a copy produced and printed in a factory, flown across the planet, driven to a distribution centre, driven to your local depot and then hand delivered to your house than it is to click 'download' and receive nothing physical whatsoever.

That's utter crap and I refuse to pay extra for it. Perhaps if everyone else did too we'd see Steam pricing sort itself out.

In complete agreement. When digital distribution was in its infancy they tried to tell us that it would mean cheaper prices due to no boxes, delivery costs etc. Why is it then that a boxed, physical disc copy can still be bought cheaper than a DD copy from an official supplier? Oh, yes, it's greed.

Anyway, any news of the next delay yet? :D I'd have expected the hype machine to be starting to ramp up by now but it's still very quiet.

The only reason I think it's more expensive is because you can get the game very quickly, but that's no reason it should cost more. The price of digital download should be the same or less.

I expect the new delay to be announced in 2 weeks. :D

The digital version does come with the benefit from being bloody convenient.

Has it?

All I found is:
"We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what GTA 6 will be, but we've got some ideas". "It comes from the idea first. Where is it going to be set is the first question. Then that defines the missions; you're doing different things in LA than in New York or Miami. The map and story get worked up together, and the story is a basic flow of how it works out so you can layer the missions in"

Development probably wasn't the right word. I suppose they are developing ideas :D

I agree and this is why I always buy keys but I want it on steam so if rockstar was sensible I could either buy a key or go retail, I had over £100 in my steam wallet also from CS:GO trading.

Played it for the first time tonight on a 360 at a m8's house. Apart from not being used to a 360 controller it was awesome, even the 360 version without 1st person and old hardware looked great.

Roll on the PC version :)

Decided to pick this up. Can't go wrong with a Steam Key from CJS Keys for £31.50 (cheaper than Steam and most retail outlets). Hopefully we get a decent preloading option since this is going to take a few days on my connection!

They claim the keys are taken from 'sealed, retail copies'. This implies the physical copy has a Steam compatible CD key?

I guess so, I haven't found anything conclusive that confirms this though. Maybe I just haven't looked hard enough :)

Actually looking forward to this now having not looked forward to a game for some time!

I think that's just placeholder text for them, it says that on every product. Most likely retail copies will have Social Club codes in them. God knows how they got Steam codes and for cheap...

Usually copies from the EU in countries that are much cheaper than the UK...at least that is what they say :p

You be £31.50 out of pocket with a game that doesn't work. Or never receive the key, key doesn't work, game access gets revoked as keys were illegitimately acquired.

I know I am picking holes but pre ordering video games is the cancer of the industry.

You could say the same if he bought the key on release day.

CJS keys seem to be good at refunding when there is an issue. Plus there is credit card protection. CJS Keys generally seem to have a good rep and I have never had an issue with them before.
