GTA4 Delayed until Q2 2008!

delay gta 4, bioshock and all the other games for over a year and i still think halo 3 will threaten my degree :(

Oh well. I guess I can wait.

Plenty of other games out between now and next year. Alan Wake may even make an appearence around the same time 2008.

I'd say it is, and to a degree I would agree with Needles, but I would also add that 'if' the games due for release this year for the PS3 arrive, and a decent price drop before Xmas there's no reason Sony couldn't have a decent Xmas. I'd agree Halo is perhaps a bit to much for the hardcore gamers (i.e. already 360 owners) to sell systems.

Please note the 'if' in my statement tho, as at present I wouldn't be surprised if all the big PS3 titles don't come out until 2008.

If it was then his comment doesn't at all relate to what I said.

I stated that not having GTA4 on the PS3 is a big miss for Playstation 3 owners.

In my second comment I stated that it now leaves Halo3 on its own in the run in to Christmas as opposed to having 2 titles battle it out on the same format, now a first part title of Microsofts is on its own.

By the meanings of both my posts it had nothing at all to do with sales of Playstation3's....
 
noted nokkon, no my post wasn't a direct response to yours, it just got me thinking and thats what I took away from the news, catastrophic for take - two in pure money terms, ms and part of their whole strategy for xmas sales went out the window ( less chance in catching some of the people who would be jumping over from ps2 ), which is an essential portion of the market still using solely last gen consoles. This is the crowd ms need to bring over to succeed in this generation, and this delay is great news for sony, time for firmware to mature, time for other AAA titles to appear ( all known too well to list here ) and for the games library to fillout and lastly for the price to be down. Leaving sony with a far better to chance to capture the departing ps2 crowd to next gen sales.
 
i agree with needles, i bet MS isn't too chuffed either in spending all them millions now for the downloadable content for GTA IV, this has sort of dented MS plans i think for this year.

R* are normally good with release dates. This has seriously ****** me off :mad:

Other than PES 2007 and Rock Band this was the only game I was looking forward to :(

Stop moaning, I'm glad it's got delayed rather than rushing it out with poor framereates and the like. Rockstar know this game has to be great and they will take as long as they should to do this.

Ahhh sorry my applogies, that isn't too bad then.

MS are gonna be raging though, surprised they didn't have a clause in it for that reason.
 
LOL and after all the bigging up of their Xmas line up at E3, all MS need now is more games delayed. This is silly though, I was hoping to get and play GTA4 on the 360 before I sell up and move over to the PS3 for MGS, FF13, GT5 etc.

Ah well.
 
I'm glad it's delayed, means theres now only 6 games I have to buy in the coming months instead of 7 :p
