gta4 *moan*

The game is pretty awesome, the characters are all pretty cool, wait till you meet Brucie, my fav character by far! :)

it's best to try an remember who you are playing and try to get into the mindset, its easy to get lost and do other things.

persevere and you'll be rewarded, a very good game indeep

i have just updated this as i installed it about 6 months ago and never played it as i had it for the PS3, however, i decided to play it just now and it plays absolutely rubbish on my system, really jerky and keeps pausing when i'm driving a car, like 1fps maybe lol.

My system should handle it as it aint a bad old system, Q6600, 4gig Ram, HD4850 gfx. So why is it so bad, i've even resorted to shutting down a load of processes to free up RAM.

Q6600, 4 gig Ram, Nvidia "maxcore" 260, @ 1680x1050.

No problems, Runs at a steady FPS (not too hight, but certainly playable, 30) and I've never had it pause or anything, only issue is sometimes I drive quickly and things just take a split second to display properly, something I've also seen on the console games.

I've had no problems whatsoever with GTA4. It runs fantastic on max settings. One of the best looking games I've ever played. Driving physics are much improved, gameplay is awesome, graphics are absolutely stunning.

Playing it through for the second time now after a graphics card upgrade and it's a whole new game.

It runs lovely on my PC steady at 30fps to 70fps @ 1920x1080, though thats after i highly modified it, from gfx tweaks to completely different car models, better textures and the list goes on.

i'm almost starting to forgive rockstar now. now i've been playing awhile i can see past the shoddy textures and just enjoy the game. i like the new combat/fighting system. also the radio is great as always.

but this idea of introducing morals? to kill or not to kill? yeah right. this is gta, i'm killing every sucker i can. (no doubt it will come back to bite me later) :D

Works fine for me. Really enjoying the game actually. Great racing around the city. Really great cars and jumps around. It looks a lot better then the screenshots make it out to appear and well it looks better then GTA 3 so :)

Worth playing through a bit more, the missions aren't enthralling but the game is about free roaming as much as it is doing the missions and they do get better as you keep going.

Ditto the above. You need a good computer to run it, but it's a great game.

get it on ps3 tbh pc v failz on all fronts

If you get it running on a decent pc it looks and runs sooo much better than either console version, plus we have the option of playing it with mouse/keys or which ever controller we want. Must admit I did find the initial install to be a real pita but its worth it.

Also i cant think of mainy bigger 'fails' than saying failz in what appears to be a non ironic way ;).

If you google these kill/don't kill choices all that happens is: If you kill them you kill them and thats that. If you don't kill them, the character makes an appearance later in the game and you can do missions for them.

GTA4 was just a massive disappointment.

I disagree, it runs fine on my system, it runs better then it does on 360, and with a 360 pad for my pc it's nothing short of a joy to play.

I think it's one of the best games made for a long time, and I enjoyed playing it immensely.

sorry to hear you had problems with it, or didn't like it.

The whole "social club" thing annoys me - i can deal with jumping through hoops and GFWL but social club seems to be there for the main priority of annoyance.

Hows the online side of the game these days - when i tried there was hardly anyone around and the lag was terrible.

I really like it, I find it to be quite humourous but the game requires a LOT of horsepower to play; don't EVER touch the car density setting! The Social Club is annoying to sign in and run in order to play, silly decision, really.

I turned down shadows (don't really need them) and turned up textures to high.

I play @ 720p with a 1GB 4850, 3GB ram and an E6600, I close down AV and spyware proggies before playing and it runs pretty well.
