GTX 1660TI

Bought a Vega 56 earlier anticipating the 1660 won't be all that. Hoping I won't have to send it back :D

So confused. This is nothing against OcUK. Barely a fraction less than the GTX 1070 back in 2016. Seriously... what the hell. Actually get LESS for the money with this one.

Why are people down on the 1660? Its basicly going to be a 2060 without the RTX features right? The 2060 isnt powerful enough to actually use those features anyway, seems like a great card if thats the case! Although I could be wrong here and its not comparable to the 2060.

no. i think it's going to have less performance than the 2060, at least from what i've read anyway.
reason being that if its performance is on par with the 2060, then nvidia have basically said how much the RTX features cost (which I'm sure they wouldn't want to do)

I see Nvidia naming is making you think that. No.. nothing like the performance of the 2060.

It's not going to be £230, it's another NV special - Over-priced and Under VRAMMED.

I realize it isn't going to be that price. Don't worry.

Dude on Reddit is delusional. Trying to justify the price.

In short, you could easily get a 1070 for 300 back in 2016. 3 years later... Now being offered LESS memory for almost the same performance. There is something very very wrong in the GPU space when people justify almost zero price/perf. Even a Ti model behind realised without a price/perf improvement.. sigh....

I hope they overclock to the high heavens to make it worth it.

It's been shaved down from 1920 to 1536 CUDA cores and from 120 TMUs to 96. It also has less memory bandwidth thanks to using lower-clocked GDDR6 (12Gbps effective versus 14Gbps on the 2060). It's essentially the x50 Ti-class card with a fancy name.
