Hi guys, just bought an ocuk gtx460 and it seems to be a little 'jumpy' when playing games, does any1 know why or have any ideas what ive done wrong? i thought this card was supposed to run most games smoothly?

It may help if you post your system spec, which games are having problems and what settings you are running them at. :)

ahh ok lol, amd phenomll 955be 3.2ghz, sparkle gtx460, 3gb kingston hyper-x ram, antec 550w psu, antec 902 case. urmm was playing farcry2 on max and cod mw2 on max. no anti-aliasing. also mafia2 seems to be a little jumpy.

460 has issues with low GPU usage in some games, the next set of drivers will correct this, whether this is relevant to your problem or not I can't say. Try new drivers when they hit.

I thought the 259 drivers were supposed to be out Monday!!

What res are you playing at? That will make a difference at max settings but with your spec and no AA enabled I would have expected at least MW2 to be very smooth even at 1920x1080.

what drivers are you using?

A freind of mine had awful performance on his GTX280, turned out he was using the native Win7 drivers :/
Installing the newset WHQLs sorted his issue out :)

urmm im using the drivers that came with it, but have just downloaded the one of the website and ill see what difference it makes.

Hopefully the new drivers soon to be released will fix these GPU utilisation issues.
Nothing worse than sucky drivers...

What res are you gaming at, and are you having issues with all the games you mentioned?

well the drivers that i downloaded off the site seem to have the same effect so i dont think its the drivers. Maybe its a dodgy card? and how would i find out if its dodgy?

Can you run the Unigine Heaven benchmark, and we'll be able to see what kind of performance you're getting?

what temps are you getting?

i was getting 91c and horrible performance in games cos of some dodgy cable arrangement and my sidepanel, once i had sorted it 61c and great performance

Do you have a source for this?

I ask as I have a GTX460 and I havn't noticed this issue. Also, no review I have read picked up on low GPU usage (poor performance to the end user) in any game tested.
