GTX 460 HELP

memory is double data rate so 1800mhz is 3600mhz which is right, im not sure about the core but it must double up in some way like the ram so 405 is 810mhz??

well the drivers that i downloaded off the site seem to have the same effect so i dont think its the drivers. Maybe its a dodgy card? and how would i find out if its dodgy?

Op, did a search for 460 issues and found this thread, read the comments.
I've also been reading about a lot of people with 460 chips that have started under clocking after a short period of ownership. Their cards start throttling themselves in the 500 mhz range and refuse to run at the stock frequency anymore.

Seems to be a fairly common problem, looks like you might need an RMA.

Basically, send the card back for a replacement.
Had a further search on the web, and it seems the 460 issues are fairly common, so you may want a refund and try a 470 or something.

ahh i see, was hoping that would be the worst case scenario. o well, ive never sent a product back ive ordered from the web before, what do i need to do?

I think it's best you avoid the 460's for a while, apparently these 460's are having basic compatibility issues with motherboards as well so there seems there has been a serious lack of quality control.
