GTX 660.

Yeah, i agree. AMD are no angles, there 7970 price on release was insane!

But, i hope AMD do knock another £20 / £30 off the 7950 to force this GPU price inflation to an end.

Indeed. The only difference is that AMD have now dropped their prices. Fair enough.

But your post - 3 above - is a little bit silly as nVidia did match AMD on price with the 670/680. In fact they undercut them. People are so quick to forget :D...

Yes, they still haven't dropped them along with AMD thought have they? and i doubt they will unless something drastic happens. look at what they are still trying to flog off GTX 5## series and even GTX 4## series cards for.

7850's value is partly in its overclocking headroom/ at max overclock vs max overclock, im sure a 7850 will beat a 660.

I think so to... 40% headroom on it easily, again like the 7950 its just underclocked.

No they haven't. One can only assume they're happy with their margins at the current price point. They're a company to make money at the end of the day.

I don't know why you're bothered by it though. You have a good card from this generation and aren't looking to swap. :)

a lot of people value performance without having to overclock. Overclock ability should be considered as a freebie :)

If the 660 was 150, same as a 7850 I'd say most people would choose the 660.

LOLcopter!! Bit-tech threatened to ban me just because I pointed out that loads of HD7870 cards were under £200 despite them saying it was around £220.

Dennis Publishing at is best - don't read CPC or Bit-tech!!

Is he? where did he say that?

@ Rusty0611... lol :)

In the thread titled "AMD price drops".

He said OcUK prices would not fall below their current levels, because they were selling at the new price point well in advance of AMD's official cuts.

Ah.. i see. already good prices and great service. yeah, that's fine.

Yeah. It's good that OcUK were ahead of the curve, but disappointing if these are the final prices going forwards.

I'm still looking for a solid performing card with a good cooler for £150 or less. My Windforce 460 was £150 after all, and that was a great card for the time. Noisy reference coolers are not an option.

Plenty of good 7850's for 150ish

It's getting to that time where both AMD and nvidia are looking to start introducing the next cards. Rumours are already floating around that AMD have the 8970 lined up, and what was originally talked about as (Big Kepler) will probably end up as the GTX 780.

All this starts again next year :) should be fun.
