GTX 670 isn't an option.

One the plus size, because of the crazy small PCB on reference 670 cards, they are suited a lot more for small and HTPC systems.

The 670 is total rip off in in my eyes, the 7950 will play anygame at max and has more vram to boot :\ for £100 cheaper then the 670.

Nvidia need to stop being greedy, ive noticed over the years all the 70 class nvidia cards plummet in price after a while, theres noway id pay £300+ for anything other then amazing.

Load of garbage.

I like how the OP tells us to discuss something without actually contributing himself.

Yes the GTX670 isn't great value now because it hasn't replicated AMD's severe price drops but most people would have bought them a while back, like myself, and are totally happy with it.

I feel the GTX670 needs to be £270 ish to be competitive, at £300 its pretty much up against the HD7970 which is a faster card in most games and much better value with the free games.
I cannot see a good case for a GTX670 especially considering that it was originally intended as a medium range card but is now priced as a high end card.

I intend to get a 670 SLI setup soon, I'd happily buy AMD if I was only using one card, multi-gpu however I always go nvidia, owning a 5850 Crossfire setup was enough of a pain in comparison to SLI to not put myself through it again. I also have a job, not a paper round so £40-50 either way isn't enough of an issue to sway my purchase.

Its garbage that the 70 versions dont drop in price ? Look the 470 and 570 they cheap as hell now.

If you think £300+ is worth it then you are the few people that do because everyone else thinks its a total rip off. Theres nothing the 670 can do that the 7950 cant, and dont talk about physx like 10 games in the world that use it.

You do realise most people who bought 670's did so a while ago?

For purely value I'd agree with them, but there are many other considerations.

Noise, power consumption and the specific task you are using it for can sway you to Nvidia.

Comparing a 7970 with a GTX 670 they are roughly even, but as the 7970 can use 80 W more power. (maybe 100 W+ with overclocking). If you had to buy a new psu to cover this extra requirement the GTX 670 would be the cheaper option.

I don't give a rats ass about power consumption, however noise and cooling capability does matter. IF I was looking to buy a GPU "TODAY" then it would have to be AMD. But I don't see it as a schoolboy chanting "my card is better than your card ner ner..." Competition is good. NVIDIA will respond, which will be good for consumers in the short and long run.

I hope scaling for SLI and XFire is improved now drivers are starting to mature. I'm happy with my 670 but scaling when it comes to both red and green team's cards can be a hell of a lot better.

I wish they had released the 660ti at 200 quid..then drop it like they did with the gtx 460..the 460 was called the king at that point as I remember it. Now the ti is too much and the non ti just ocer priced too.

I wish people would stop comparing diagonal and start going like for like.

7970 - 680
7950 - 670
7870 - 660TI
7850 - 660

These new drivers 'seem' to have improved AMDs standings and time will tell more but short memories seem to be in full force here. I am glad that AMD have got drivers the owners deserve but how long did it take? While the drivers were not up to scratch, people were buying 670s and getting better results than the 7950s and this was the case across the board.

If these drivers turn out to be stable, then AMD have got it spot on :)
