GTX1050ti plus 32Gb RAM VS. GTX1060 plus 16Gb RAM

Looking for a laptop for heavy video editing (specifically After effects work), and got the question what would be best;
GTX1050ti with 32Gb RAM or a GTX1060 with 16Gb RAM

1060 with 16gb ram.

Even if it's compromised and hasn't enough ram, at least it can be upgraded (gpu is more difficult if possible)

How would the P2000 compare to GTX1060 when looking Video and after effects work? All the comparison site only compare gaming benchmarks

havent looked at the P2000 model above and its specs but seems with after effects, Quadro is the same as Geforce cards in performance

they are good though when you need to use a TRUE 10 Bit display!

as you can see, more so about core speed then thread counts as 8700/8600k are about equal

gtx 1060 would be more powerful, specially if in desktop or QMax form

whats your budget ? having a screen that is 100% Abode RGB is also very handy!

If you simultaneously are multitasking, the 16gb is perhaps needed. A plus for the16gb option is avoiding a future ram upgrade

More ram and more CPU cores is more advantageous than a good GPU unless the software you are using takes advantage of Nvidia CUDA.
Like Armageus said if you can afford it 1060 + 16gb then add another 16gb.

Unfortunately, AE 2015.3 is only able to use the video card to accelerate a grand total of three effects: Lumetri color correction, Gaussian blur, and Sharpen. More effects should be added in the future, but as of the moment only users who utilize these effects will see a difference in performance.

Like I said a good gaming GPU is pointless unless you use the above three effects ! It was from 2016 so I would see if the number of effects has been increased as that article is next to useless.

More RAM 1st, good CPU 2nd, GPU third when it comes to Video Editing.
