I've had some nice belts in my time, not quite Gucci level, i've had Diesel, Ted Baker, Timberland etc, but the best belt i have ever had is the one i have now that cost me about £10 from Bangkok. It's a fake Hugo Boss one but with real leather and just the buckle. It has outlasted any of the branded ones i've had by double so far, no stretching, the 'claw' grip on the buckle still grips after 3 years! The leather also still looks good. I know where i'm getting my next belt from ;)

lol I've never had a "nice" belt... in fact other than a belt that came with a suit I bought once I've only ever had one belt and it's so old I can't even remember where or when I got it. Seems to hold my trousers up just fine though

For all the people bashing OP saying "its just a belt". Sometimes its not just a case of what it is, but more how it makes you feel. If you feel confident and happy in that particular piece of clothing then that is great.
As for Gucci belts, I am not a fan personally, they are to gaudy, and chavvy imo. I personally like belts that are more subtle, YSL, Hermes, (Not the ones with the massive "H"!), and Farragamo do some really nice peices.

If paying £250 solely for the "privilege" of advertising a company with very good advertising makes you "feel confident and happy", that's not great. A therapist would be cheaper in the long run.

700 quid for 'that' shirt.
Who the **** buys that?

This company is amazing. Its basically printing money!

I guess what I don't get is how you set a price? Why not 800 or 600? Why not 1k? 'how much was the turtleneck?'
Better to say 4 figures than 3?

Not being a top revenue earner I'm not sure what makes the mark!

I have an image of someone rummaging in their handbag and finding a 4-sided dice from a tabletop RPG. Roll 2d4 to set the price, job done. When the price has no connection to the value, it may as well be random.

Maybe it's somehow used in money laundering? Imagine you're a criminal with lots of money you acquired illegally and can't explain to the authorities. Buy an item of clothing for £10 from a sweatshop in Bangladesh, claim you sold it for £700 in the UK and there's £690 of dirty money cleaned. Evade avoid most of the taxes like a normal business and hey presto, you're a "legitimate" business person and not a criminal at all. You might even get a few fools actually buying the things as well. The best money laundering businesses make legitimate profit too. It's easier and more convincing to exaggerate a genuine profit than to completely falsify one.
