They would be crazy NOT to make a new HL. They would make SO much £££.

However back in the day they said they where going to go episodic. They haven't even finished that yet! Where is episode 3?

If Valve still have a HL3 project, it's so far on the backburner that it will never be finished. Valve would have to update the engine and the assets to get it out the door, and there seems to be little will to do so.

Do valve even work on the source engine any more? When was the last time the source engine had a major update or we had a game based on an updated engine?

Maybe that's what their waiting for. To build a new engine. But unfortunately if this was the case it shouldn't take a decade.

What do Valve employees actually do? I know the hardware side will be doing something but the rest of them don't seem to do much. Are they all just working on DOTA and TF2 hats or something? They sure as hell don't do much in the way of curating their storefront anyway.

Valve (used to) write their own engines. The fact they are not doing so is just another indication that they've given up on HL3.

The E3 after next, once VR has gone more mainstream, or is on the verge of mainstream and valve want their model to take the mainstream... So... June 18, 2018 at say, elevenses?
