Guess what's just flown over my head

At least we still have something to bomb Putin with when he comes - I have horded a load of pitch forks and hard bristle brushes

I wonder how many people on here have any idea what I am talking about.

not a swallow ? that would be equally rare more endurance than a Lancaster ... post brexit they probably feel rejected least a ways houses aren't built very sympathetically.

I was out in garden cutting the lawn when I heard this droning noise - Looked up and coming straight at me

I remember a true story in my commando comic where a Lancaster bomber put a 500 pounder down a mine shaft in Germany during the war. With a bit of foreknowledge you could have arranged for them to bomb your manhole cover and enable water boarding your pipe blockage.

Who gives a flying **** about what the daily express said about Swallows in a thread about a Lancaster flying over the OP this morning? Come on jpaul, this is spectacularly stupid, even for you.

Merlin engined aircraft have such a distinctive noise!

A Lancaster flew over not so long ago, people just stopped in awe. Awesome sound and plane.

Happy to have witnessed some proper airshows before they were reigned in - low flight passes with full vertical afterburn.

Did you even read the 1st reply to your post?
Yes I read it but somehow it went into my head and straight out my backside before my brain could register it. - It's what happens when you reach 40+

We have house martins not swallows,

Mods please lock this thread.

I haven’t seen the Lancaster overhead, I’m insanely jealous and this is making it worse!

I live very close to Coningsby so we hear and see these all the time. Pretty much a non event now actually.

The Typhoons doing a performance take off is really something to see. I get to see them sometimes when I got a job out of the local farms in the area.

Get the odd Chinook and Osprey over our house now and again too.

Lots of air bases around here. Red arrows down the road too.

been to a couple of the DUxford shows, the sound of prop warbirds is magical compared to the scream of jets. was lucky enough to see the 3 Lancs event, had two in the air while the 3rd was taxiiing, sound was sublime.
