Now Try without Blocking any IPs, Virgin Media seems to have now fixed this buffering problem.

Hello I know a lot of us on here, who with VM been having buffer issue with HD YouTube videos. Well some guy over on the VM forums seems to have found a nice easy fix :)
I have just followed the guide and once I finished noticed Youtube was super fast like old day lol

Blocking 62.252.0.0/16 Range seems to be the better option.
What you need to do is Block this IP address 62.252.44.12 and that's it :D

Block an IP or IP Range in Windows Firewall
https://support.powerdnn.com/KB/a482/block-an-ip-or-ip-range-using-windows-firewall.aspx

Give it a try guys.

And I thought I was coming in here to find an actual solution to the buffer issue...

sigh... a quick type into the URL bar tells me the IP address is for google, dont bother....

Merry Christmas :o

Wow you really didn't even try did you? So like 8 of us all lie about this?

Tried it - sort of worked, sort of didn't. A video I was watching is now loading at 720p fine, however any other video now has a 30 second timeout before it even tries to load and then only 50% of them will even buffer, the rest won't even load

Have a link see if I can load it?

It's the Tekkit Videos from Yogscast, they're fine (For everybody but me on Virgin!!)

Clicked couple of them, There buffering fine here. Will see how this go's on peak time tomorrow.
So far YouTube is using a lot more of my speed, When I right click show video info I can see its using much more than before.

Just tried the rule on the router as well as the windows firewall and clearly not working. I'm sure there's a possibility it is working for some people, however it is definitely not a true fix and won't work for everybody

Same did nothing for me at all

Edit: Did this as found on vm forum Block the range 62.252.0.0/16 and it worked for me so must be multiple cache addresses

Blocking the entire /16 assignment seems to have done the trick. Good work OP + DAvE18.

Note: I blocked it using Windows Firewall and Virgin have replaced the ""SuperHub" with a (Just as bad) D-Link DIR-615 after my brother moaned about the terrible WIFI, so although I'm still testing and all looks good (using Google DNS)
