Guild Wars 2

They messed up tonight. Badly. Although I managed to play what I wanted to the account that I expected to work didn't yet my pre-purchase account did. Shame it took over an hour to figure it out.

So what you're saying is, if you sign an NDA contract you give up your basic human right to free speech and are subject to prosecution?

your signing a legally binding contract that asks you to not talk about it, in order to protect their product. To cut to the chase so no one steals their game and reproduces it before they can.
So pretty much if you don't agree, dont sign it, and dont play it? No one is forcing you to play it and not talk about it, its your "human right" to choose to accept or not.

i really don't see what your problem is here, you sign, you break the contract, you get punished. Same as any legally binding contract.

I just don't see how an NDA could be legally binding. A threat is all it is really.

you steal anything and replicate it they'll sue your arse into next year to save their product. you leak pictures and theyll ban you from the game (and all anet accounts get banned)

yes its mostly a threat, but they will and can, quite happily with little effort, and that means the threat works. of course they cant monitor it 100%, but they give a catch all in the hopes it stays under wraps a bit, which to be honest, it is.

Yeah, if you steal from them they would have every right to prosecute. But, you can't just sign away your right to talk. BTW, not that will or want to talk about it. I'm just saying.

how would they know it was u or whoever that broke nda? unless ArenaNet have secret members reading this forum and hacking into your pc to find our ip address to see if it matches your gw2 account. i cant see how

Lol ignoring thE rubbish, they don't need secret members as we have people on here whO love to tell tales, see the nab from Here who reported me to swtor when I was in that beta ...takes all sorts:)

yes yes ok i meant the previous betas where everyone had to sign. this stress test people are saying they havn't signed anything etc. Also general NDA talk. It was also an example for the people who cant seem to understand a simple concept.
