Guild Wars 2

I've got the store credit. I've asked for the direct refund also, I can't trust them now. I believe when you buy a new key if you message support they'll swap the key for the legitimate one.

What a mess around!

I might take my refund and try Tera :o

That is down to you in the end, i tried Tera but it was similar to Aion with FPS like aiming. It was a good game, just after playing plenty of similar games in the past felt i couldn't justify playing another similar MMO.

To be honest I already pointed out on the official Forums and on here that you can just set your country location to somewhere in the Pacific (e.g. British Virgin Islands) and your card will still clear through. I don't think the cash-store really demands the same address as your registered card address. I put in the British Virgin Islands for my country of residence during the Beta and it accepted me and gifted me my 2000 coins.

What's even more hilarious is that clearly the CJS guys watching this unfold on the official forum have, somewhere, read my post saying this. I've just checked my email and their latest response to me is that I can set my billing address to the British Virgin Islands and still use the gem-store fine. Ergo they have read my message (anonymous) on the GW2 forum and are now giving me back my own advice. ROFL :D

You can do this, but I'd rather know that my key hasn't come from some poor persons credit card. Plus the keys could get banned or blacklisted at a later date.

I have never had an issue with cjs before this but won't be using them again.

Well if you could do that it would be fine but due to the region lock, if you've got an American key you will only be able to play from America as it checks IP's.

Well we should be able to get it done, can't remember the thread but Gaile Gray confirmed it.

Actually I think people can play across continents fine :) The game will just log you out back to the log-in screen as it switches your account from EU->NA and vice versa. NA players can actually log-on and play EU servers quite easily, as I understand it. The problem is literally only with the billing and card-payment on the Commerce store. Because CJS people evidently have US/Pacific keys, the billing system obviously wants a billing address in that region. Players are not locked to their respective regions for actual gameplay, though.

I don't know what is going on then, maybe it's different for beta but from reading a few of Gaile Gray's posts on the official forums it will be region locked.

It was said that if your on an American account you can play on EU servers and vice versa but you will only be able to play from an American IP like wise you'll only be able to play on an EU account on US servers only with an EU IP address.

It is stated here;

http://www.guildwarsinsider.com/arenanet-guild-wars-2-client-region-locked/

The conclusion of that topic.

"So there you have it. You can play on any server but you have to play the game from an IP that is based in the region from which you purchased the game. This is great news for people who want to play with their friends and guildies all around the world. It may be a slight obstacle for travellers until they find a solution."

So it looks like if the CJS keys are legit and are American then we wouldn't have been able to play at release anyway as we are on EU ip's.

Well cjs have gone all pi##y with me about my refund saying ive already had it? Ive had no refund or even store credit from them. What a joke.

Assuming you paid with PayPal, I would tell them you will open a PayPal dispute - I suspect they will not be keen to go down that route and end up with PayPal chasing them as well

As I mentioned earlier, open up a dispute (with some detail as to the EU key thing) and they "should" refund you pretty quick. Don't even bother telling them your doing it, they will mess you around more.

When I was emailing their support, they were sending me emails backwards and forwards, promising refunds and then retracting it - as soon as I opened up a dispute they refunded within an hour.

LMAO the first 30 second disclaimer to that video .... blablabla

1) We knew for the last 3-4 years how the skill system in GW2 would work. Its almost exactly like GW1, except you have 2 more skill slots, and 5 skills are locked according to weapon choice. The video complaining about this just shows that the people making it are clueless. If they dont like only having a skill bar of 10 skills, they shouldnt play GW2, simple.

2) It was never stated that questing in GW2 would be random, it was called 'dynamic' from the the very beginning. The difference has always been that you simply dont need to talk to a quest giver to do the quests, you still have to go to where the quests are in order to do them, thats why your map is covered in those heart locations.

Having said that, no one ever claimed that everyone is going to like GW2, however the information provided about the game so far has actually been very accurate, and anyone could have researched the gameplay far ahead of the beta to make an opinion on whether they would like it or not.

I see absolutely no relevance to complaints regarding only having 10 skills / 5 locked skills, just about everyone has already known this for the last several years. If you dont like that, then dont play the game. Simple.

Anet said it was not a region issue but the keys were purchased illegally

https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/for...-I-bought-is-not-legitimate/page/1#post133486

Why that should cause this strange issue is very odd. I have now requested a refund and will ask anet to remove the key once done.

Shame, I opened a paypal dispute just now to get a refund, will just re order it from either Zavvi or Play I suppose.

Well theres one good thing about CJS keys, they refunded the game very fast, but I'll wait for the refund to show up in my paypal account first.

I bought Tera yesterday through CJS to play until GW2 is released, hope I don't have any issues like you guys are having!

May I ask why people are buying from Zavvi when for the same price you can buy from Anet direct?

It used to be £39.99 thats why I said Zavvi, but since the prices are now the same and I can use paypal on Arenanets site, I'll buy it direct through them once my refund is back in my paypal account, which could take up to a day or two.

I agree with others that £49.99 is too much for a game, even for this one, but I want it on release and also want to play the remaining betas.
