Guild Wars 2

The game's CPU bound in just about every scenario....

I barely managed to get above 30 FPS all weekend. Changing graphics settings had a negligible impact on framerate if any at all.

The game turns into a slideshow wherever a lot of people get together, this is a game that encourages a lot of people to get together very often...

Maybe your happy to play your games at 10-30 FPS but I'm not.

What spec?

Mine was fairly smooth even with a large 40-50 people fight in the Frozen Maw against an uber-mob, only got a GTX460 and i5 3750, neither overclocked and neither was over 50% utilisation.

That just proves that it's unoptimised.

If it were optimised it would be silky smooth and using all available resources to make it so.

Instead it's bottlenecked somewhere, hence it's only 'fairly smooth' and only half of your GPU and CPU power was being utilised.

I still stand by what i said about the devs allowing us to play with a max level char and testing end game/high level stuff though before release.

There are currently NO end game/high level areas in the game, so this wish isn't going to happen.

Besides which I'm 100% certain that the devs do NOT want to spoil what's available @ end-game before release, it's a beta after all, and not a end-game demo.

I didn't seem to have a problem with performance, I have a 550ti with i3 processor. I'm not that clued up but I did have everything on 5 visual wise.

I had a decent time with my 5850 with everything maxed out. Couple of freezes in cities but otherwise great. Slight drop with the shadow behemoth but playable. I can see this game stealing a big part of my life for the next few years. :D

Had so much fun this BWE and I already have withdraw symptoms from the game.
I had no problems with performance even on max. I am running a 3570k with a 7850 though.

Not sure what was happening to my system on the Sunday afternoon/evening. Lot's of serious crashing to black screens, requiring restarts. I hadn't changed anything at my end and the beta ran happy as Larry on the Friday/Saturday. The system been stable ever since too...

This is with my A8-3870k. Though I'll certainly be getting a dedicated GFX when a release date finally rears its head.

Thats due to your cpu, as it says in that thing.

It definetley is cpu bound, and heavily. I was getting about 30fps on all of the settings. Shouldn't be happening. I have an overclocked Phenom II quad core processor. Any game should be running well on that, especially on minimum settings. They'll need to get all of this sorted out before release.

Hmm well I had a torrid time with a 5850 (well 2 but crossfire did nothing so I left it dissabled) and a Phenom II 965.

Pretty much the same here, but with a single 6950. I think it's evident that they haven't optimized properly for all processors yet. They should, hopefully, fix it before release.

It's not looking good for my Phenom 955 and 5830 :/

I have a Phenom 955 at 3.2GHz, and a 5850. As I mentioned previously, my performance was excellent. And bearing in mind it's not using all the GPU yet, it'll only get better. Mind you, I can't speak for the 5830 and what performance you'll expect to get.
