Guild Wars 2

Cant bring myself to pre-order...

£35-£45 for an empty box with a code inside- meaning i will have to download "X" GB of game files.

£50 ordering from the guild wars 2 website, technically obtaining nothing, and having to download "X" GB of game files \:

Disc sure woud be handy.

Even if you had discs you would still need to download GBs of patches.

Such is the nature of large MMOs. If you cannot download GBs of data, don't play MMOs!

Even though its £50 for the digital edition from GW directly or £35 from other retailers I think both of these are a very good price.

Especially when you take into account that Star wars the old republic came out at around the same price and it had a £9 ( give or take I cant remember) monthly fee on top of this.

Looking at it that way I personally thing £50 is a bargain

And more importantly you know that the £50 goes directly to ArenaNET and no fat cat distribution boss takes a nice big cut :)

I bought Guild Wars 1 a week ago, along with all expansions for £40 and already had more than my fair share of monies worth from it.

Infact I enjoy it so much I went and spent a further 20 quid on the shop, money well spent. As apposed to normal mmo's where your paying ~10 quid a month even if its crap.

if he wasnt such an ******* and bully he would have a lot more fans that actually like him (apart from the youtube kiddies)

anyhow its all well and good about the exploring bit, but no ones gonna be exploring if you get one shotted by some OP enemy out of nowhere.

and on that note since the beta a while back (didnt play the last one) did they adjust the difficulty? or does the game still play like you need a ****ing army behind you to kill a worm?

oh they have a treat in store for you lol. From every single beta apart from the most recent I agree but wow it's different now and difficulty seems just right except a couple of story quests where you face questionable amounts of mobs. I've now gotten into the pandaria beta and know which out of the two I want to play after levelling to 89......GW2 of course! GW2 actually feels less Chinese than wow with this latest addon.

Is it worth putting out an extra £15 to get the digital deluxe edition? Most of the stuff seems one time use?

I'v got the digital deluxe edition pre-purchased but in all honesty your probably best off getting the basic version and maybe spending the £15 on store gems. I think that is much better value for money.

Thanks mate, I will do that then!

Also, the headband that pre-purchasers get, is that limited to 1 character? Or will all new toons get one?

There's been talk of guilds in this thread for a while but to be honest I skipped over them.

Is there going to be an OcUK guild created? I was hoping to find a busy guild that has mature players.

I got the same, and kinda agree with this TBH. Tho I'm happy with the DD version, just may have being better looking at the store.
