Is it down now?

Just finished an instance and the game hung on a loading screen.

Very impressed of what I've seen so far. Even more impressed with the performance of the game. Runs really well! Was ranging from 30-60 frames with full graphics and AA. Very playable.

I was running with fraps since BWE2 to measure FPS in the same 2-3 locations and the performance was higher in BWE3 than it was in BWE2, lower in last weeks stress test and blew BWE3 out the water in tonights like 10-20 fps better in those same positions.

Whether FPS is linked to server performance I don't know but I can see with more optimization their end and some shiney new drivers from Nvidia the performance could be shmexy.

Yup its down now.

Had some real laugh in wvwvw, was 4 of us in a group, but only 2 of us really working together, but just with the 2 we took down a lot of the enemy :)
 
Peformance is remarkably better today. I'm having fun with elementalist though it seems almost all the profession forums on guru have broken out into whining.

Hey! It's not my fault I'm a wuss who prefers to stay in the keep rather than risking my life to get a kill! It was very good although it would have been better if either of my headsets was still working.. I'll try to get that sorted for release.

A stress test starting at midnight? I would play but I've got to play sports on Saturday and don't want to be dead on my feet.. Ahh well, hopefully they'll do a few more just to get it as ready as they can for launch. Atleast with my pre-order I won't get a headstart so I won't experience as much crashing, lag etc. when everybody is in the starting zone.
 
I wonder what the percentage of people who are going to play this game have pre-purchased and what percentage will buy on the day. Surely the latter will be higher?

Nothing wrong with attacking from the back, (far far far in the back) thats my normal strategy :D

I would think with all the positive press and media coverage over the past few months most would have either pre-purchased or pre-ordered. Only a handful of people will be buying on the day.

Still ANet have well over a million people on the 25th to start off, I wouldn't be surprised at all if GW2 breaks the current GW1 numbers within 12 months.

FYI GW1 sold over 7 million copies since release in 2005.
 
So if this game is releasing on 28th, with pre-purchasers getting in 3 days early on the 25th, does that mean servers will be live for login at midnight on 24th/25th? What time zone is that based on and what does that equate to for us?
 
Had a great (first) couple of hours last night trying out Thief, and briefly Warrior. They're my 2 go-to MMO classes, but very tempted to try something totally different. Will try and sneak on again for tonights late night testing and stry a couple more out. Joined Desolation but was too engrossed in the learning curve to track down any Immortals.

Was happy with performance on my old 720 Phenom, 4gig RAM and 6870. medium-high settings and a steady 45-50fps, although I image Ill take a hit in WvWvW. Roll on release!

It goes live 00:00 PDT on the 25th, which is 08:00 BST (UK time).

The game goes live 8AM Saturday 25th August for anyone with a pre-purchase, if you bought a pre-order and it arrives before the 28th you can log in at 8AM on the 27th for a day of headstart.

But if it's getting delivered beware as the Monday before release is a bank holiday.

I believe the release time (to make it easier) is August 25th at 00:01, so 8am for us on the 25th.
