I noticed this and the chap still on 2.0 meg connections. Can you guys not get a free upgrade to 8 meg?
Just wondering how your connections will cope with WvWvW as your upload won't get be great either.
Better not be a big patch, I'll only have my tethered connection on Saturday morning..
They most likely are on max ADSL, which is up to 8 and that's simply the speed the line will support. Upload isn't really an issue, the majority of users with broadband have similar up speeds because they aren't limited like the down.

My upload is not too bad actually, 0.4 meg. I can't get a faster speed where I live sadly. Far away from the exchange. I've played MAG battles fine with 128 v 128!

They may be in a similar pisition to me whereby even though I'm on a 20mb line, the max speed is considerably lower (4meg) because of the quality of the line and the distance from the exchange.

It's not just people in the sticks. I live just outside central London and I have a 3 meg line, no sign of Virgin Media coming to the area and no BT Fibre until the end of 2013.
Started downloading, anyone got an estimate on how large this download is? I can normally do a GB every 3.5-4 hours (Internet has slowed down a bit the last couple of weeks, used to be 2.5) so hopefully if I leave it to download over the weekend when I'm in france, everything should be hunky dory.
Nope GMG were the last alternative stockists I am afraid.
There is another company that can not be named offering the pre-purchase but they can no longer deliver before the 28th, and they are only £5 cheaper anyway.

It calculates percentage based on the number of files, not size.

4.7GB downloaded and it's on 2%. Given the figures stated above perhaps it's not the most reliable percentage counter?
Or maybe it's percentage of the number of files it's downloading?
