Can't you explain to your beloved that 2 days after your wedding you fancy spending the evening playing GW2 rather than having a nice romantic time with her and therefore could you borrow her card? Sounds ok to me - can't see that going wrong at all. (caveat I have been divorced twice ...)

you get shown a key on screen and the same key sent to your email so you can just buy it and send him the key

I doubt we will , even though the servers are offline theres still been small updates to the client.

Do what I've been doing and run the launcher every evening this week to give yourself time to update the client if you need to. I can't see there being anything major to update this soon before launch since the last two patches, but its worth checking if your connections a bit lacking.

You'll definitely have to patch. Someone mentioned above however that you can register your key and download it, so I'd start now
