Guild Wars 2

I

I do somewhat regret ordering it from OCUK as anywhere else would have supplied the game. I know the official release date is 28th but pre-order is meant to give 3 day headstart. Guess I missed that one...

It's not mate. A pre-purchase (i.e. digital) gave you three days, a preorder gave you one day. You'd be best calling OcUK, or using the support section on here. 5UB will help..might even be able to send you the code or something if the game hasn't been sent out yet.

Unfortunately im locked in a year long contract with Sky for the internet. That means it will take me about 14 hours at least to download the game. Absolutely awful internet.

I guess ill just wait and see... It will arrive eventually. Besides im not in a huge rush... Guess I can clean the house or something... :p

How is the game running on people's rigs? played swtor at launch and that ran badly tbh

How bad is your rig? Mine played SWTOR and now plays GW2 just fine, and it's so embarrassingly low-spec that I won't even put it in my sig!

I agree with the comments that the game doesn't really tell you much. I'm an old hand at MMORPGs so it doesn't bother me, but for the MMO newbie I can imagine it being rather overwhelming. It doesn't even tell you how to attack!

+1

I'm following my story and finding it really hard to level. I try to do any events I come across but that's not helpping much. I'm forced to run around exploring and killing random stuff to get xp. I don't seem to get any choice in how I level I have to do everything just to be at the right level. Seems like a real lack of content, at least in the lower levels.

Also, people say you can get xp from crafting, but the game hasn't even mentioned crafting to me yet. Or going to other starter zones and grinding them too.

I realise some MMO may hold your hand more than some would like, but this one seems to have pushed me and a ****** off entirely and I have to guess what I'm supposed to be doing.

I felt the same way, i was in areas with things 3-5 levels up from me, getting killed instantly.I didnt know you could go into other starter areas, as its my first play of gw, so i will do that now.

My same experience tbh. World of warcraft had a much simpler learning curve and explained everything nicely.

It seems like i'm just wandering around hoping for random world events to kick off to gain levels.

At times you cannot progress out of areas you have already done the quests in due to the wild animals being a higher level than you..

*carries on playing* i'm sure it'll improve once I leave the starting zones.

I'm not sure why you are having such a hard time, as it isn't really difficult to get to grasps with the game.

And it does mention Crafting when you visit the crafting area of your home city:)

The WoW effect is kicking in - you don't have a signpost quest telling you where to go next so you freeze in terror rather than just exploring and finding things out :)

Didn't really play WoW, found it slow going and tedious.

So now I have to go to the crafting area in my home city to find out about crafting? How was I supposed to know there was a crafting area? I'm also not sure if I'm in my home city or still in a tutorial (that's not teaching me anything).
What other things is the game not telling me about the I have to locate so that it'll tell me about them?
I keep seeming to pick up trophies, but I've no idea what they're for, they don't sell when I "Sell Junk". Is there a Trophies section in my home city that will tell me about trophies?

I've been really enjoying gw2 so far except for one small issue when I decided to do some crafting and ended up bankrupting myself making toast :p it was so bad I couldn't even fast travel back to the questing area.

Oh well atleast I have a bag full of toast, so if you guys need any toast I'm your man :D
