Guild Wars 2

Not going to give up on it seems as it was £50, kind of wish I waited to get it cheaper, hopefully I'll get into it the more I play :)

Yeah, know what you mean. I'm the same. Only paid £35 for it, but that's still enough that I'm gonna try to give it more than a few hours of play before making up my mind.

Fan-blinking-tastic mate thanks for asking :D

Weather was perfect, venue was perfect, my wife was stunning and I had a good cigar, good beer and great company! On a mini "honeymoon" at the mo up in Scotland, only here cause the baby is so young we can't travel so it's us, the baby and her family. Nice but wet :D

I was tempted to play Mesmer, I just found it irritating in pve when my illusions kept disappearing after killing the mob, would much prefer if they stuck around until shattered. How do you find that aspect of it?

Also how are people lvl 55?!?

Sounds awesome mate, hope you enjoyed it.

Regarding the illusions disappearing yeah its a tad annoying but you just explode them before the mob dies.

So how are the class populations working out on Desolation?

Loads of theives and elementalists or is it fairly even?

I get the feeling the 'popular' or 'cool' classes in this game aren't necessarily the most played, not like in other major MMO's... to the point where the cool Thief/Rogue type and Necros and Mesmers can almost seem scarily redundant. They're supposedly more 'challenging' to play, but whether or not it has a payoff...

And then you have SWTOR character details in your signature :D

SWTOR is much easier to get to grips with :P and combat on that (for me at least) is fun.

Targeting on this is weird, loot is hard to see, a lot of stuff flashing on the screen and I am losing track of what I am meant to be doing. I just need some time to flush out the controls better I think, will give it a proper bash another time!

/edit

Also I deposited some collectibles... where did I deposit them to?

At the moment, it seems impressive overall, however there are huge question marks over two key areas:

- Is all of the PvP going to be heavily group based, which generally becomes a bit of a zerg fest?

- There isn't much in the way of endgame PvE content, at all, and while that isn't the main focus of the game, it does need to be focused on to some extent.

Dungeons don't seem to be working particularly well (levels 30 onwards) if you try and do them in a group either, and the overflow servers are fairly rubbish, restricting what you can do with other players.

Was going to get this tomorrow but have read a lot of negative stuff... is it worth £40 at this point in time?

Most of the stuff is positive, and rightly so, what negative stuff is putting you off?

Considering the price and the fact it's sub free, it's easily worth £30-40, without question. It just has a few flaws and the future of the game isn't particularly clear, but that will all become clear/be resolved before too long.

Robbo, your sig brings pain to my inner being...going to have to adblock your signature :(

Is there a daily cap on the amount of karma you can get? as i haven't got any for the last couple of hours, which is annoying as i was saving up for a chestpiece to finish my set :(

There's no real guarantee that GW2 will be any more 'successful' at endgame than SWTOR at this point. Your arrogance basically stems from pre-release hype and marketing.

It has viable PvP, all I want from it is viable PvP and therefore, it has the endgame I want. And I know that because I've experienced it.
